As all fans of television and movies know, a vast majority of our favorite shows and movie were delayed for months during the concurrent writers' and actors' strikes in 2023. Both strikes reached resolutions by the end of the year, but the delays already had widespread impacts. Being so, we'll now be waiting for a number of popular Netflix shows to premiere in well into 2025.

Obviously, we had held out hope that most of the biggest Netflix shows would be able to manage a release in 2024. A decent amount will be releasing in 2024, but others will just keep us hanging a little bit longer to savor the suspense. Some of the biggest new release shows coming to Netflix in 2024 include Bridgerton season 3, The Diplomat season 2, Squid Game season 2, The Umbrella Academy season 4, and many more.

Even during and after the strikes, Netflix managed to release new seasons of its biggest shows like Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias as well as debut new hit series like One Piece and FUBAR. Thankfully, all four of those shows and a handful of others have been renewed for more seasons. However, Netflix has confirmed that 2025 release dates will be in the cards for number of its most popular original series.

While it will be difficult to stay patient for the final seasons of Stranger Things and You, and to remain on the edge of our seats for the next chapters of Ginny & Georgia and Wednesday, there's a lot of great shows to look forward to on Netflix in 2025. There's likely even more to look forward to than even just those highlighted on this list!
