There's great news in store for Sweet Magnolias fans! Even though we will still be waiting until 2025 to watch season 4 on Netflix, series star JoAnna Garcia Swisher shared the exciting news that the upcoming season has officially wrapped filming.

On May 30, Garcia Swisher broke the exciting news to her fans on Instagram with a post featuring a photo of the actress with her on-screen besties Brooke Elliott and Heather Headley. In the heartfelt caption, Garcia Swisher wrote, "This was BY FAR my favorite season… not just for the OMG moments (there are many of them!), but because it was a joy to make."

The touching caption also contained a number light teases for Sweet Magnolias season 4, including the Maddie actress calling the upcoming episodes a "magical season... for reasons I can't wait to share." No, wait! JoAnna, elaborate! What are those reasons?! Not to get ahead of ourselves here, but could there be something "magical" in store for Maddie and Cal?

Of course, Garcia Swisher gave nothing away. It's a spoiler-free celebration of filming's wrap, which leaned into her own bittersweet emotions around finishing the season. But surely Sweet Magnolias fans can't help but let their imaginations run wild. After Maddie and Cal's relationship struggles in the past and getting back to basics in season 3, could a certain question be popped in season 4? That's definitely something that would be magical!

As filming on season 4 wraps and we now wait for the episode to finally land in our watch lists next year, fans will be looking toward the future. Garcia Swisher also shared her hopes that the series will continue with a potential fifth season, comments that echo showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson's recent comments about season 4's wrap. The creator expressed her "prayers that we will get to do it again." Given its popularity, that doesn't seem to be an issue.
