It's the news Ginny & Georgia fans have been waiting seemingly forever for: Season 3 is officially in production! Netflix announced the great news on social media on Monday, April 29 with three photos of the cast reuniting at what appears to be the first table read for Ginny & Georgia season 3.
On the same day, creator Sarah Lampert shared a selfie on her Instagram Story with the caption, "First scene of season three DOWN. A bunch more to go...," which confirms the fact that cameras have indeed started rolling. Who else can't wait to see what they're filming?!
Back in February 2024, there had been rumors swirling that production on the third season would begin by April 29, and as it turned out, the rumor had been right on the money. According to that initial report, season 3 filming will allegedly last through September, which seems to be a solid five-month production timeframe right in line with season 2's filming timeframe.

Ginny & Georgia season 3 begins production
As excitement rises for Ginny & Georgia season 3 with production underway, lots of fans will naturally wonder when the episodes will be released on Netflix. Well, given the above information about filming likely lasting until September, there's still going to be a decent wait ahead for the release date.
In case you were keeping your fingers crossed for season 3 to be released by the end of 2024, it's time to uncross those fingers. Netflix has already confirmed that Ginny & Georgia will not release new episodes in 2024. Due to setbacks caused by the dual Hollywood strikes in 2023, a number of popular Netflix shows have seen their return dates delayed.
But if the initial table read photos of the cast reuniting to get things going on the new season are any indication, we're in for the best season yet — and we haven't even seen a second of it! The season 2 cliffhanger, which included Georgia getting arrested for murder, still looms large over the story. In an interview with TUDUM, Lampert shared a small tease about season 3:
"We ended Season 2 with Georgia arrested for murder — ruining her fairy tale wedding and leaving the fate of the Miller family hanging in the balance. It’s always been Ginny and Georgia against the world, but the world has never come for them quite as hard as it will in Season 3. We are beyond excited to finally kick off production and keep bringing our fans the characters they love."
- Sarah Lampert, creator
The release of season 3 can't come soon enough! Don't forget that after the third season drops, we still have season 4 to look forward to. When Netflix renewed Ginny & Georgia for season 3, the streamer also picked up a fourth season. As of this writing, it's unconfirmed whether season 3 and 4 will film back to back, but given the current filming schedule, the prospects seem unlikely. Before even worrying about season 4, let's stay excited for season 3.
