7 good Netflix shows we can't wait to watch this fall
By Bryce Olin
Summer is officially winding down, but Netflix’s fall lineup is starting to heat up!
Over the last few weeks, we’ve learned more information about several big Netflix shows coming in the fall of 2024. We shared a list of seven good Netflix shows we can't wait to watch this fall.
There are a few new shows you’ll need to watch. One of those made the list, but we’re most excited for the Netflix shows with returning seasons coming this fall.
Let’s get the list started with The Perfect Couple!
The Perfect Couple
The Perfect Couple premieres on Netflix on Sept. 5. Is this still a summer show? I think fall starts after Labor Day, so The Perfect Couple officially counts as a fall show for Netflix!
This is going to be one of the most popular Netflix shows of the year. It’s based on the book series of the same name from Elin Hilderbrand, and it stars Nicole Kidman, Meghann Fahy, Dakota Fanning, Liev Schrieber, and more.
This murder mystery tells the story of a rich Nantucket family celebrating a weekend wedding that gets derailed when a body washes up on the beach.
I have extremely high expectations for The Perfect Couple! I hope this is one of the best shows of the year. The potential is there, but will they pull it off?
Emily in Paris season 4 part 2
Emily in Paris season 4 starring Lily Collins, Ashley Park, and Lucas Bravo is now streaming on Netflix, as of Aug. 15, but it’s not the full season. No, for that, you’ll have to wait to watch season 4 part 2 on Netflix on Thursday, Sept. 12. Each part consists of five episodes, so we’re still waiting on the final five episodes of the season.
This season of Emily in Paris is one of the show’s best, and I think I speak for fans everywhere when I say it’s going to be a long wait to watch part 2.
In the first half of the season, Emily makes a huge decision about her future. In the second half of the season, Emily’s taking a little trip to Rome.
Heartstopper season 3
Heartstopper season 3 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 3! We don’t have to wait too long to see Joe Locke, Kit Connor, and the rest of the great cast back on Netflix in new episodes of the hit YA series from Alice Oseman.
The Netflix original series is based on Oseman’s graphic novel series of the same name. There were some rumors that season 3 could be the final season of the series after Netflix ordered a two-season renewal after season 1 premiered in April 2022.
Now, it sounds like there’s room for at least one more season. Hopefully, Heartstopper will be renewed for season 4 soon!
We’ll find out this fall!
Outer Banks season 4
Pogues, we’re officially heading back to the Outer Banks this fall!
Netflix shared the first teaser trailer for Outer Banks season 4 this week in the form of a new commercial for the Kildare Island Surfboard Co., John B and the Pogues’ new business venture.
Netflix confirmed that we’ll see Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Jonathan Daviss, Madison Bailey, Carlacia Grant, Rudy Pankow, and Drew Starkey in season 4 sometime this fall, but we don’t have a release date yet. That will probably be announced very soon!
In the new season, the Pogues are going after a new treasure: Blackbeard’s treasure. And, that’s about all we know about the plot of the new season. We’ll let you know more as soon as we find out the Outer Banks season 4 release date!
The Diplomat season 2
The Diplomat season 2 starring Keri Russel, Rufus Sewell, and David Gyasi premieres on Netflix on Thursday, Oct. 31. It’s not exactly what we were expecting from Netflix on Halloween, but we’ll take it! We’ve been waiting since last spring to watch The Diplomat season 2, and we can’t wait to see what happens for Kate and Hal Wyler after the explosive season 1 finale.
We weren’t sure when to expect the new season of The Diplomat from Debora Cahn, but then Netflix’s Ted Sarandos teased the release of season 2 on Netflix’s latest earnings call. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long for the new season!
If you like political dramas with great performances, The Diplomat is the show for you!
Love is Blind season 7
Speaking of Ted Sarandos dropping some big news on the earnings call, we have some big news for fans of Love is Blind! According to Sarandos, the new season of Love is Blind is coming to Netflix later this year.
"Just before the end of this year, we’ve got Squid Game’s return, Emily in Paris’s return, a new season of Selling Sunset, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Diplomat, Virgin River, Love is Blind, Ryan Murphy has an incredible new season of Monsters. That’s all just coming up before the end of the year."
Netflix has not officially announced the release date for the new season, but it looks like Love is Blind season 7 will premiere sometime this fall. That’s what we’ve seen for new seasons of the series in the past.
We also haven’t heard officially where the new season will be set, but rumor has it that the new season is set in Washington D.C. We’ll find out soon!
In the meantime, I highly recommend watching Love is Blind UK and Love is Blind Mexico on Netflix.
Cobra Kai season 6 part 2
Cobra Kai season 6 premiered on Netflix on July 15. It’s been a while since the first five episodes of the season have been available to stream, but you’re going to be waiting even longer for season 6 part 2.
According to Netflix, the middle of Cobra Kai season 6 is coming to Netflix on Thursday, Nov. 15. So far, Netflix hasn’t announced when the third part of season 6 is coming to the streaming service, but rumor has it that we can expect the new episodes sometime in early 2025.
The whole gang is back for the Sekai Taikai in Cobra Kai season 6, including Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Xolo Maridueña, Peyton List, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Dallas Dupree Young, and more.
That’s the list of shows we can’t wait to watch on Netflix this fall! Stay tuned for more new releases coming to Netflix soon!
