Warning: Spoilers ahead from Emily in Paris season 4 part 1.

Emily might have made her big romantic decision in Emily in Paris season 4 part 1, but there's still a lot more story to tell in the second part of the season. Following the drop of season 4's first five episodes on Aug. 15, the remaining five episodes will arrive on Sept. 12 and take Emily to Rome.

The big trip to Italy wasn't teased in season 4 part 1, but Netflix teased Emily's Roman holiday before cameras even started rolling on season 4, and paparazzi cameras later caught Lily Collins filming scenes in the city with a man who was neither Gabriel nor Alfie. Suspicious!

When Netflix released first-look photos from Emily in Paris season 4 and revealed a slew of new characters viewers have yet to meet in part 2, the mystery man was revealed by be a character named Marcello played by Eugenio Franceschini. Is Marcello going to get in the way of Emily's relationship with Gabriel?

Lily Collins address love triangle concerns in Emily in Paris season 4 part 2

In Emily in Paris season 4 part 1, Emily made her choice between Gabriel and Alfie and committed to a relationship with the man she loves, Gabriel. Alfie will be back for some closure, or maybe even another arc, in part 2, but Emily and Gabriel are an official item.

Knowing that Emily's made her choice and that Collins was caught on set filming part 2 with a different man has set off alarm bells for some of us who might have assumed the endgame was steadily taking shape. Collins addressed the potential for an additional "geometry lesson" for Emily in part 2 without specifically touching on what's next for her character.

The series star and producer couldn't spill any concrete details, but she hit on the upcoming Roman adventure in a slight tease to Deadline:

"I can’t speak too much on that. I can just say that there were paparazzi pictures that came out where you see that there is a new person that she’s in Rome spending time with, but I will say that Emily gets to go on a very fun Roman Holiday, and Emily wouldn’t be Emily without a little geometry lesson."

What do you mean, Lily?!

Emily doesn't need another love triangle

Personally, whether it's with Alfie or this Marcello character, I don't think Emily in Paris should explore another love triangle for Emily. She's finally made her leap to love and to watch it further crumble due to more indecision or another suitor trying to whisk her away would surely create some fatigue among the audience. I mean, you can only "will they or won't they" so many times before we've had enough.

We one billion percent don't want or need a cheating storyline. I regret even putting that thought out into the universe! *Sages the aritcle* This will be my at least fifth apology to Alfie fans, but I believe in this rom-com story Emily's heart fully belongs to Gabriel. It could be fun to watch some handsome Italian heir attempt to flirt with her, but it shouldn't be a real geometrical option in this love equation.

Emily and Gabriel have worked so hard to get to where they are now. Between all of the twists Camille has thrown them — and continues to throw them — I would like to think nothing could come in between them at this point. The best and biggest surprise would be Gabriel turning up in Rome to propose to Emily. Now that's something we should be manifesting for part 2.

Watch Emily in Paris only on Netflix.
