The Pogues confirm fall 2024 release in silly Outer Banks season 4 promo

Our "hot Pogue summer" was unfortunately postponed in 2024, but don't count the Pogues out just yet. Outer Banks season 4 has been expected to release sometime in fall 2024, and Netflix officially confirmed the post-summer release with a little help from the Pogues.

On Aug. 15, Netflix dropped the comical parody commercial written and directed by Pope actor Jonathan Daviss. In the Kildare County Surf Shop promo, the Outer Banks cast appear in character and promote their hometown's surf shop and all of its good and amenities. Likely, the shirts teased in the video will become available for fans to purchase when season 4 premieres.

While the spoof promo didn't confirm an exact release date for Outer Banks season 4, fans have officially heard it straight from the Pogues themselves that the next chapter of the teen adventure series will drop sometime this fall. Outer Banks season 4 confirmed for fall 2024 release

Outer Banks season 4's potential to release in fall 2024 was last teased by series newcomer J. Anthony Crane, a new cast member who posted on Instagram that the highly anticipated fourth season would be coming in the fall months. Part of his photo's caption included, "I hope you all tune in this fall for the premiere."

Earlier in the year, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos revealed that the hit series would be back this year at some point in the third or fourth quarter, which ultimately aligns with the now-confirmed fall release window. At the time of Sarandos' comments, season 4 was still filming, though production's wrap was announced by the cast in mid-June.

It's been a longer wait than usual for new episodes of Outer Banks, considering season 3 dropped in February 2023. The series followed up its April 2020 blockbuster first season over a year later with the second season in July 2021. Early in its run, the production had to contend with the pandemic, but season 4 was delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood labor strikes.

This summer, rumored release dates begin swirling around online, but Netflix has not yet confirmed an exact date or any release schedule plans. For now, all we know is that we will back with the Pogues for another twisted, and surely dangerous, treasure hunt this fall.
