Netflix new releases coming in January 2025

In addition to Missing You kicking off the year on an edge-of-your-seat note, the month continues the action with the gritty drama series American Primeval and the highly anticipated second season of The Night Agent.

The Night Agent season 2

Release Date: Jan. 23

Peter Sutherland's back for his first mission as an official Night Agent. The long-awaited, strike-delayed second season of breakout smash hit The Night Agent arrives on Jan. 23 and finds Peter embarking on another dangerous mission full of intrigue, conspiracies, and new friends and enemies. Thankfully, all 10 episodes of The Night Agent season 2 drop all at once, so you don't have to worry about a two-part release. The best part? Season 3 is already in the works!

Harlan Coben's Missing You

Release Date: Jan. 1

Once again, Netflix treats thriller fans to another Harlan Coben limited series on New Year's Day. In Missing You, a detective's fiancé vanished without a trace and she hasn't heard from him for over a decade... until she stumbles upon his face on a dating app. Doesn't that sound like a wild premise? If you have been previously captivated by any of Coben's past limited series on Netflix, you can't miss a minute of Missing You when the five-part series rings in the new year.

American Primeval

Release Date: Jan. 9

If you're still in the mood for an enthralling limited series after Missing You, the following week brings another one that will again keep you guessing with each episode. The period Western drama American Primeval comes from Peter Berg and Mark L. Smith featuring stars Saura Lightfoot Leon, Taylor Kitsch, Betty Gilpin, Jai Courtney, Shea Whigham, and Dane DeHaan. Taking place in 1857, the series tracks the brutal battle over the American West. Check it out on Jan. 9.

XO, Kitty season 2

Release Date: Jan. 16

Are you ready to head back to KISS? Well, class is back in session in XO, Kitty season 2, and Kitty Song Covey is serving up more lessons in love. The fan-favorite To All the Boys I've Loved Before spinoff series at long last returns with another season of love triangles and comical coming-of-age dramas as Kitty continues to navigate young adulthood at boarding school in Korea. Who knows what's in store for Kitty this time around?! We'll finally find out on Jan. 16.

Back in Action

Release Date: Jan. 17

Welcome back, Cameron Diaz! And welcome back, Jamie Foxx! The movie star duo make quite the comeback on Netflix on Jan. 17 with their action-comedy movie Back in Action, a title that's all too apt. Diaz comes out of her acting retirement after a decade away, while Foxx returns with his first leading role since his recent health problems. The stars play a married couple who are pulled back into their careers as spies as they juggle raiding their kids. It's just screaming for a sequel!

What's coming to Netflix in January 2025

The Night Agent, Back in Action, and XO, Kitty might be among the highest profile new releases coming to Netflix in January 2025, but there's plenty more new releases worth watching.
