I don’t believe you’ll find the top 10 most-watched new shows on Netflix of the year (so far) too surprising, but for ranking so high, the majority have yet to be renewed. Let’s have a look!

The top 10 most-watched new shows on Netflix are:

10. What/If
9. Bonding
8. Trinkets
7. Dead to Me
6. The Order
5. Russian Doll
4. The Society
3. Love, Death & Robots
2. The Umbrella Academy
1. Sex Education

Despite being called trash TV gold, Netflix subscribers flocked to watch What/If‘s goldmine unravel as soon as it premiered, so it was expected to land somewhere on the list. While nothing has been revealed just yet about a second season, it’s likely to happen. Series creator Mike Kelley even shared his plans for What/If season 2 with TV Line.

Bonding is another series that captured a lot of attention, but it’s likely its running time that helps rank it at No. 9. Consisting of only 7 episodes, all of which run for no longer than 15 minutes, it’s one of the quickest binge-watches on Netflix.

Dead to Me, which ranks at No. 7, is also a breeze to see. Not only is it fun and features an entertaining and powerful friendship, but each of the 10 episodes are right around the 30-minute mark. The dark-comedy recently received a second season renewal.

Russian Doll is also returning with more episodes and unsurprisingly so! The series, starring Natasha Lyonne, Charlie Barnett, and Greta Lee, ranks at No. 5.

Finally, you’ll find The Umbrella Academy and Sex Education as the most-watched new shows on Netflix, landing at No. 2 and No. 1, respectively. Both of these have been renewed and we can’t wait to watch more!

As all Marvel shows left Netflix, The Umbrella Academy entered to save the day! This series is unlike any other superhero show out there, and made news for being watched by 45 million Netflix subscribers in a short amount of time. It follows a family of supers and far-fetched plots that include a robot mom and talking ape, but at the center of it all is family and unconditional love. They all support each other, even when one of their own is trying to destroy the world.

Sex Education is a coming of age British dramedy featuring heartfelt stories and lessons. Sex Education follows Otis (Asa Butterfield) a 16-year-old sex expert. Not by personal experience, but because of his mom (Gillian Anderson) a sex therapist. Season 2 is currently filming.
