It's the month, the moment, the magic everyone has been waiting over two years to celebrate: Bridgerton is finally back in May 2024! The third season of Netflix's original romantic drama series anchors May as the streamer's true centerpiece amid a month full of exciting new movies and shows starring some of Hollywood's biggest stars.

In May 2024, Netflix has new titles starring the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jeff Daniels, Jerry Seinfeld, Melissa McCarthy, Brooke Shields, Miranda Cosgrove, Will Forte, and so many more. Bridgerton season 3 part 1

Release Date: May 16

Polin season has started! The long-awaited third season of Bridgerton begins in May 2024, and we say "begins" because, in case you didn't know, Netflix has opted to split the season into two parts. The first four episodes of Penelope and Colin's season drop on May 16, while you will have to wait until June 13 for the last four remaining episodes to premiere. There's no doubt season 3 will be more than worth the wait based on the sizzling clips and teases that have been dished out!

A Man in Full

Release Date: May 2

Returning to Netflix for the first time since the 2017 Western miniseries Godless, two-time Emmy Award winner Jeff Daniels headlines the new limited series A Man in Full. Based on the Tom Wolfe book of the same name, the series centers on an embattled real estate mogul in the middle of a bankruptcy whirlwind as he attempts to stay one step ahead of those looking to benefit from his business slump. The six-episode series comes from David E. Kelley, who created Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer, and also stars Diane Lane, William Jackson Harper, Lucy Liu, and more. Check it out on May 2!

Release Date: May 9

Looking for your next darkly comedic mystery thriller? Netflix has just what you're looking for with Bodkin, the new dark comedy coming on May 9. This one will likely be for the Only Murders in the Building fans as the series centers on a group of podcast hosts who take it upon themselves to explore the truth behind the disappearance of three people. Bodkin takes place in a coastal town in Ireland, providing a moody but beautiful setting, and features seven edge-of-your-seat episodes.


Eric: Limited Series

Release Date: May 30

Rounding out the month's new Netflix original series, Benedict Cumberbatch stars in the psychological thriller limited series Eric. The six-episode series takes place in the 1980s and centers on a father and puppeteer named Vincent (Cumberbatch) searching for his lost son Edgar with the help of Eric, a seven-foot puppet and figment of Vincent's imagination. Eric has all the potential of being the next big Netflix limited series when it makes its premiere on May 30.

Do you like Pop-Tarts? Do you know their origin story? Well, if not, Jerry Seinfeld is going to fill you in on the hilarious history. Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story has had a long road to finally making its premiere in May 2024, having wrapped filming back in July 2022. In the larger-than-life and highly comedic film, Kellogg's and Post race to be the first to revolutionize breakfast pastries in the 1960s. Seinfeld directed and co-wrote the film, which he also stars in alongside Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Hugh Grant, Amy Schumer, and more familiar faces. Grab your Pop-Tarts and watch Unfrosted on Netflix when it premieres on May 3.

Mother of the Bride

Release Date: May 9

There's something about a romantic comedy that we all love. Thankfully, they are coming back in a big way lately, which means there will be plenty of new ones to watch. Brooke Shields and Miranda Cosgrove team up for Mother of the Bride, which centers on a mother learning that her daughter is set to married the son of a man who broke her heart years in the past. The movie comes from Mean Girls director Mark Waters and also stars Benjamin Bratt, Sean Teale, and Chad Michael Murray. Mother of the Bride premieres on May 9, just in time for Mother's Day!

Release Date: May 24

Jennifer Lopez has conquered snakes, the Super Bowl, and so many romantic comedies, but now the multi-talented star is taking on space. In her new sci-fi action thriller Atlas, Lopez stars as a data analyst who must help save the world from artificial intelligence. To say the trailer presents a truly action-packed adventure would be an understatement. Lopez already has a successful Netflix original movie under her belt with The Mother, and it looks like she'll have another on May 24.
