New Bridgerton season 3 clip finds Penelope getting lost in Colin’s eyes

It seems Bridgerton viewers won't be the only ones getting lost in Colin's baby blues this season.

In a new first-look clip from the upcoming season of Netflix's hit regency drama, Penelope quite literally gets lost in Colin's eyes as the two share a flirty encounter that ends in the most adorable awkwardly charming moment between the two beloved characters taking center stage in season 3.

“Your eyes are the most remarkable shade of blue," a clearly mesmerized Penelope comments to Colin as they two share a sweet moment alone together. "And yet somehow they shine even brighter when you are kind."

Realizing she clearly got caught up in the moment, Penelope is quick to brush the comment off as something she might say something if Colin were a suitor. This then leads to a truly awkwardly adorable Colin nervously downing his drink before managing to muster up a remark on how "rather direct" the comment was before something pulls his attention away from the moment. Because, of course, Netflix has to leave us hanging on the edge of our seats!

It's clear by the clip released as part of Netflix's Next on Netflix reel that Bridgerton season 3 is going to continue the show's trend of slow-burning relationships between the lead characters and we absolutely love that the writers are leaning into Penelope and Colin's awkward flirtations as the show explores the friends to lovers dynamic of their relationship!

The chemistry between Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan is truly magical, and I cannot wait to see how the writers craft the pair's love story over the course of the season. We're sure to get even more fun flirty moments like the one above in which Penelope attempts to finally make her feelings for Colin known to him and we're here for the couple taking center stage in season 3 and we are so here for that!

Bridgerton season 3 part 1 arrives May 16, followed by the release of Part 2 on June 13.
