Leanne Morgan picks her dream guest stars and new boyfriends for Leanne season 3

Following Leanne season 2's release on Netflix, star Leanne Morgan shared who she would love to see guest star in a possible third season of her hit sitcom.

Following the debut of Leanne Morgan's Netflix sitcom Leanne last summer, the fan-favorite comedy returned in August 2026 with its highly anticipated second season. The comedian once again dives into the fresh start of her titular character, who wound up unexpectedly single 30 years into her marriage after her husband leaves her for another, much younger, woman.

As the mother of two adult children and a grandmother, Leanne entered uncharted territory, which continues in Leanne season 2. She explores her independence while deciding whether she's ready for another long-term relationship. Not to mention, she and her sister are also taking on a new role as caretakers for their elderly parents in the wake of their house fire.

One of the greatest parts of Leanne, apart from its relatable storytelling and laugh-out-loud humor, is the revolving door of guest stars. Tim Daly recurs as Leanne's new boyfriend, while season 2 also welcomed new guest stars like Billy Gardell, Jaime Pressly, and Lainey Wilson. But Morgan's already thinking ahead to who could drop by season 3 if Netflix renews her sitcom for more!

Leanne Morgan wants Matthew McConaughey in season 3

In an interview with Country Living Magazine after the release of Leanne season 2, Morgan was asked who her dream guest stars would be for the third season, and the comedian had a long list of comedy legends prepared. But she also name-checked a couple stars that she wants to see in the running for her character's next dates, which includes an Oscar winner and a legend who's no longer with us.

"I would love to have Patrick Swayze or Matthew McConaughey come and be my next boyfriend," Morgan said to Country Living. She will have much better luck getting McConaughey on board to romance her character. With their Southern connection, they would for sure have chemistry. But Swayze, the beloved star of Dirty Dancing and Ghost, sadly passed away in 2009.

Beyond who Morgan would pick for Leanne's new love interests, she provided a list of comedy legends that everyone loves: "Oh my gosh, okay. Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Molly Shannon, ’cause I'm a huge SNL fan. I just did Dana Carvey and David Spade's podcast, and I would love to have those boys on there."

All six of the names she shared were at one point cast members on Saturday Night Live, which clearly proves that Morgan is in fact a huge fan of the long-running sketch comedy series. Morgan mentioned that she appeared on Carvey and Spade's podcast, but she also dropped by Poehler's Golden Globe-winning podcast Good Hang. She's already got a foot in the door with those three!

In the promotional run for Leanne season 2, Morgan was vocal that she wants Daly to return in future seasons as her character's boyfriend. Even though Leanne and Andrew didn't end season 2 as a couple, and Daly has his own sitcom premiering on NBC this fall, Morgan wants her on-screen boyfriend back on the show. Maybe after she dates Matthew McConaughey?

Following the release of the second season, Leanne's in a bit of a tough spot viewership wise. The new season failed to debut on the Global Top 10 for Netflix's English-language shows during its opening weekend, but the show remains a hit in the United States. As an inexpensive multi-cam, there's a good chance season 3 could still happen and keep the laughs coming.
