When you need a good laugh, you know that you can always turn to Leanne Morgan to lift your spirits. The stand-up comedian has specials available to stream on Netflix and now two seasons of her hilarious sitcom Leanne. The second season made its debut with a collection of laugh-out-loud and relatable situations about life, romance, and a truly dysfunctional but lovable family.
Since the premiere of Leanne last summer on Netflix, fans have been looking forward to the second season coming back to spread some levity. Even though there are some changes in season 2, like fewer episodes and three characters sidelined, but Morgan and Chuck Lorre have once again crafted a sitcom that feels like a warm hug for the whole audience.
Because there aren't as many episodes in Leanne season 2 than in season 1, fans are going to breeze through their binge-watch much faster than they'd like. By the time the heartwarming season finale ends, you're going to want to start the series over from episode 1. The Upshaws
These days, multi-cam sitcoms are hard to come by, which makes Leanne's success on Netflix all the more exciting. It's such a nostalgic format for comedy that's not quite as popular as it once was. Not everyone loves the laughter included in the show, but when it's from a live studio audience, it simply adds to the experience, just like with Netflix's fellow multi-cam hit The Upshaws.
The sitcom boasts a lot of similar ingredients as Leanne, between its comedy format, stand-up comedians in the cast, and the fact that they are family sitcoms targeted to older audiences. The Upshaws centers on the titular working class family in Indiana as they struggle with making ends meet, following their dreams, and, when it comes down to it, each other.
The Upshaws was released in seven parts on Netflix, which comprises five seasons and 60 total episodes. In comparison to Leanne's current 26-episode collection, this series will keep you much more busy and, more importantly, supplied with laughs for much longer than a weekend. The series ended with its final season earlier this year, making it the perfect time to dive right in.
Nobody Wants This
The next two selections on this list aren't multi-cam comedies, though there are plenty of others to discover on Netflix, between originals like The Ranch and acquired favorites like Mom and Mike & Molly. But when it comes to relatable comedies that bring the laughs, you simply can't forget to mention the Emmy Award-nominated rom-com Nobody Wants This.
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody star in Nobody Wants This as sex and relationships podcaster Joanne and rabbi Noah. When the pair meet, it's kinetic with instant chemistry, but they more their lives intertwine, the more that the realities of building an adult relationship begin to interfere with their future. Their families sure don't help matters when the cards are stacked against them.
On top of the series earning its own Emmy Award nomination two years in a row, Bell and Brody each earned their first Emmy nominations for the first season. Nobody Wants This will be back for its third season before 2026 comes to an end, so if you have been putting off watching the series, here's your sign to finally give it a watch. It's also just a perfect show to rewatch, too.
The Four Seasons
Another series that you might not put side by side with Leanne, Netflix's The Four Seasons actually has more in common with the sitcom than you would think. On paper, yes, they are two completely different shows, but when you break it down, both are explorations of life and relationships when you reach a certain age and can no longer run from your problems.
The Four Seasons borrows its narrative from the '80s of the same title, but updates the set up of a group of friends, made up of three couples, meeting up throughout the year through a modern lens. When the group gets back together, they can't help but bring along all of the baggage that was too big to leave back at home, always hilariously overflowing with chaos and hilarity.
It's actually not hard to imagine Leanne Morgan making a cameo in The Four Seasons, either as her Leanne character or someone else entirely. She would fit right in with the show's sense of humor that's been established by Tina Fey, Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Calvani, Erika Henningsen, and former main cast member Steve Carell.
