The end of the year is nearly here, and although the second half of 2023 has been unprecedented for the film and television industry, there are still plenty of new Netflix movies and new Netflix shows to look forward to in November 2023 and beyond.

Of course, November begins to welcome the holiday season, and Netflix has at least two titles worth putting on your radar. Virgin River fans have been long anticipating the release of season 5’s pair of Christmas episodes, while the new movie Best. Christmas. Ever! kicks off the holidays.

Beyond the holiday-centric content coming in November, Netflix also boasts the release of the throwback HBO series Six Feet Under, the animated Scott Pilgrim series, Adam Sandler’s family movie Leo, and Jennifer Garner’s Netflix return in Family Switch.

Below we’re sharing some of the new release movie and show highlights as well as the complete list of what’s coming in November!

Six Feet Under

Release Date: Nov. 1

A few months ago, Netflix announced that it had begun acquiring past HBO series, such as Insecure, Ballers, True Blood, Band of Brothers, and The Pacific. This fall, the fan-favorite, award-winning drama series Six Feet Under arrives for fans new and old to rediscover. The series consists of five seasons and 63 total episodes and stars Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, and Frances Conroy among others. From True Blood creator Alan Ball, Six Feet Under centers on a family who owns a funeral home in Los Angeles as they grapple with themes surrounding death and grief.

Release Date: Nov. 30

While you’re waiting for the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai, the team behind the hit Netflix original series has another action-packed show ready for you to binge-watch. Obliterated stars familiar faces Shelley Hennig and Nick Zano and centers on an elite special forces team tasked with stifling a threat in Las Vegas. However, they get ahead of themselves and celebrate the win before realizing they haven’t finished the job yet. The eight-episode series makes its premiere on Nov. 30, and it’s sure to be a fun end-of-the-year treat.

Virgin River season 5 part 2

Release Date: Nov. 30

For the first time, a new season of Virgin River was split into two parts, but season 5 was released in parts for a very special reason. On Nov. 30, the two remaining episodes of Virgin River season 5 double as the show’s first Christmas special. As Mel and Jack search for the identity of her biological father, the town celebrates its Christmas tree decorating competition. But there’s lots of ground to cover, including Lizzie’s pregnancy, Cameron and Muriel’s relationship, and Charmaine possibly finally giving birth! Don’t miss these two extra special episodes.

Best. Christmas. Ever!

Release Date: Nov. 17

Heather Graham, Brandy, Jason Biggs, and Matt Cedeño star in the first new Netflix original Christmas movie of 2023, which is hopefully very aptly titled Best. Christmas. Ever! The movie follows a pair of old college friends who typically keep in touch via an annual newsletter but find themselves spending the holidays together by circumstance. Over the holiday, Charlotte (Graham) searches for proof that Jackie’s (Brandy) isn’t as perfect as she puts on. Watch the comedy starting Nov. 17!

Release Date: Nov. 21

Fresh off his hit family comedy You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!, Adam Sandler returns to Netflix as an animated iguana in Leo. In the musical comedy movie, the 74-year-old lizard named Leo plots an escape from the elementary school he’s been cooped up in for most of his life. With one year left to live, Leo embarks on an adventure to experience life outside his tank, but he also finds himself drawn to the lives of the students in his classroom. Check out the heartwarming, family-friendly movie when it premieres the week of Thanksgiving.

Family Switch

Release Date: Nov. 30

Yes Day star Jennifer Garner, The Office and The Hangover star Ed Helms, Wednesday breakout Emma Myers, and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers newcomer Brady Noon star as the titular family in the body-swap comedy Family Switch. After an encounter with an astrological reader, the Walker family wakes up to an expected switch on an important day in each other their lives. In order for everything to work out, they will have to come back together as a family. Check out what’s sure to be a huge, heartwarming hit on Nov. 30.
