On the hit Netflix original series You, Penn Badgley might be a stalker serial killer who’s married to someone just like him. But in real life, the actor isn’t anything like his character Joe Goldberg and has a healthy relationship.

Penn Badgley stars in You season 3, which premieres on Netflix on Oct. 15, as the character fans hate to love (or love to love, depending on who you ask). He’s back in action as Joe alongside Victoria Pedretti as Love, continuing their deadly deeds in Madre Linda.

Of course, we have known Badgley from his earliest television roles in the 2000s, but he’s probably best known for The CW’s Gossip Girl, in which he played Dan Humphrey, as well as the movies John Tucker Must Die, The Stepfather and Easy A.

In the past, Penn Badgley has been in two high-profile relationships. First, he dated his Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively from 2007 to 2010, and he started dating Zoë Kravitz in 2011 until the relationship ended in 2013. But who is the You star married to now?

Following those two relationships, Badgley began dating singer, actress and doula Domino Kirke in 2014. They were married in February 2017 and became parents to a son named James in August 2020. Badgley is also the stepfather of Kirke’s 12-year-old son Cassius.

The pair keep their relationship and child private, with Badgley opting to keep his Instagram page full of photos and videos of his activism work, mental health awareness and sneak peeks at You. What more proof do you need that he’s the total opposite of Joe Goldberg?
