The original series aired on The CW from 2007 to 2012 and starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen and Ed Westwick as privileged teens coming of age on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Kristen Bell provided the voice for the titular unseen stalker that shared the dirty secrets of these elite kids online.

The next generation of Gossip Girl comes from the same creative team that made the original a generation-defining hit, including executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage and showrunner Joshua Safran. Bell also reprises her voice role as the ominous, all-knowing gossip blogger.

Unfortunately, the original series is no longer available to watch on Netflix. All six seasons of the beloved hit teen drama were previously streaming on Netflix, but the series jumped platforms in December 2020.

While you’re there, you will most definitely want to check out the reboot, which is also exclusively available to stream on HBO Max. The new series debuted on July 8 with a special linear airing on The CW on July 9. Gossip Girl debuts new episodes weekly every Thursday only on HBO Max. The first six episodes will bow through the summer and the second half of the season continues in the fall.
