Best romantic Netflix movies coming in summer 2021

Love is in the air this summer on Netflix, and we’re not just talking about the new seasons of Virgin River and Outer Banks coming to set our shipping hearts aflutter. All those big-budget summer superhero blockbusters are great, but it’s all about the romantic Netflix movies.

This summer, we’re getting a handful of incredible romantic Netflix movies for different tastes, all featuring incredible casts we will all be tuning in for. From romantic dramas to romantic comedies to romantic teen comedies, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Kicking off the summer is the romantic-tinged comedy Good on Paper written by and starring comedian Iliza Shlesinger, followed next by rom-com Resort to Love starring Christina Milian and period romance The Last Letter from Your Lover starring Shailene Woodley and Felicity Jones.

Of course, summer closes out with a pair of can’t-miss teen romantic comedies that are sure to be two of the biggest Netflix movies of the season or, at the very least, the most talked about. Let’s start things off with one of the first romantic movies of the summer, Good on Paper.

Good on Paper release date

If you have been looking for the next great laugh-out-loud funny romantic comedy, you will find what you’re looking for on Netflix. The summer movie rush kicks into high gear following the premiere of Kevin Hart’s dramedy Fatherhood with the rom-com Good on Paper.

Iliza Shlesinger, the comedian known for her five stand-up specials and sketch show on Netflix, stars in Good on Paper (which she also wrote!) as Andrea Singer, a stand-up comic who thinks she might have met the perfect guy on a plane. Dennis (Ryan Hansen) seems good on paper, but when Andrea takes a closer look, he isn’t quite as perfect as he seems.

Of all the romantic movies coming to Netflix this summer, Good on Paper offers the heartiest laughs. How could it not with Shlesinger’s sharp wit in the script and her hilarious presence on screen? The film currently holds a middling score on Rotten Tomatoes, but critics aren’t often the barometer of taste for rom-coms. Good on Paper will be good on your watch list this June.
