Tell the truth: The cheesy romantic Netflix movies are some of your favorite to watch. Whether you love to hate them or hate to love them, there’s something undeniable about the Netflix original romantic comedies, like Falling Inn Love and the soon-to-be-summer hit Resort to Love.

Something both of these guilty pleasure movies have in common is their leading star, Christina Milian. The singer-actress returns to the Netflix fold for another romantic movie that’s sure to sweep viewers off their feet when it makes its premiere this summer.

Milian stars as aspiring pop singer Erica, whose career takes an unexpected turn when she winds up performing at the wedding of her ex-fiancé (Jay Pharoah). After accepting the gig at an island resort and finding out it’s the nuptials of a former flame, Erica battles her reignited feelings for her ex while being kept at bay by his brother (Sinqua Walls).

There’s no doubt that Resort to Love will feature some sort of forbidden love triangle and go exactly where we expect it to go, but that doesn’t make the ride any less fun. We all need that summer treat that allows us to escape in romance in a tropical locale, and that’s what Resort to Love offers. Don’t miss the new Netflix rom-com when it starts streaming on July 29.
