It's no surprise that limited series continue to rank among the most popular titles on Netflix each month. They're historically shorter than your average television series and tell a full story that's perfect for a one-sitting binge-watch. This year alone has boasted its fair share of hit limited series on Netflix, but there's one more you need to squeeze in before the year comes to an end.

Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Colman Domingo stars in Netflix's conspiracy thriller limited series The Madness, which makes its premiere on Thursday, Nov. 28, otherwise known in the United States as Thanksgiving. Everyone loves escaping into a good pulse-pounding thriller series, and this one's not to be missed. It's got everything: murder, a great story, and a strong cast.

Here's a little bit about the show via its official logline:

"In The Madness, media pundit Muncie Daniels (Colman Domingo) must fight for his innocence and his life after he stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos woods. As the walls close in, Muncie strives to reconnect with his estranged family – and his lost ideals – in order to survive."

Domingo earned his Oscar nomination for his starring role in the Netflix original movie Rustin, and he won his Emmy Award for his role in HBO's teen drama series Euphoria. With his buzzy new Netflix limited series, he's sure to be in contention for another Emmy nomination and potential win with The Madness. As Muncie Daniels, a TV personality suspected of murder, Domingo dominates the role.

The actor shared with Netflix's Tudum what drew him to the role of Muncie:

"It was a unique protagonist, one that I had never seen or experienced. Someone who has very centrist beliefs, and now they’re being thrust into the world to really hard-core believe in something and to reexamine the people that they believed were possible enemies. You realize you have more in common with them than you thought you had in the beginning. I think it says a lot about who we are now and what we’re willing to do, and also to look at who’s really pulling the strings and for whose benefit."

If there's one show you have to add to your watch list and make sure you binge before the end of the year, it's definitely The Madness. There's constantly so many new movies and shows being advertised to us on every streamer, but here's a title that's worth your time, that will keep you guessing, and that everyone will likely be talking about during the Thanksgiving break and beyond.

The Madness cast, synopsis, trailer, and more

As briefly mentioned above, Domingo headlines the series as a political pundit on television who has seen easier days in his life. Unfortunately, when he finds a body in the woods, Muncie's life gets that much more complicated as he's targeted as the scapegoat of a white supremacist's crime. He's then tasked with clearing his name and getting to the bottom of a wide-ranging conspiracy.

Learn more about the show in Netflix's full synopsis:

"Muncie Daniels is a political consultant-turned-TV pundit who may have lost his way in life. While on a work sabbatical in the Poconos to write the great American novel, Muncie finds himself the only witness to the murder of a well-known white supremacist, and now he's being framed for the crime. Muncie is forced to go on the run in a desperate fight to clear his name and unravel a global conspiracy before time runs out. Along the way he'll reconnect with his family, find unlikely allies, and fight against disinformation in a post-truth age."

Television shows and limited series that center on conspiracies, politics, and murder have been among the most popular titles on the air. Some of the current biggest shows on Netflix fall under this particular genre, including The Night Agent, The Diplomat, and The Recruit. The streamer knows its niche and will continue to cater to fans with the upcoming Robert De Niro miniseries Zero Day.

Aside from an exquisite performance from Colman Domingo, The Madness also features a number of familiar faces in its cast that give similarly brilliant performances. Marsha Stephanie Blake stars as Muncie's wife Elena, and Average Joe star Deon Cole appears in the series as Muncie's confidant Kwesi.

Here's who stars in the limited series:

  • Colman Domingo as Muncie Daniels
  • Marsha Stephanie Blake as Elena Daniels
  • Deon Cole as Kwesi
  • Gabrielle Graham as Kallie
  • John Ortiz as Franco Quinones
  • Tamsin Topolski as Lucie Snipes
