When The Hunting Wives first premiered on Netflix in the summer of 2025, it immediately set the streaming world alight. Given how successful it became, it was pretty much a no-brainer for Netflix to greenlight the show for a second installment. That big renewal announcement came just two months after the first season dropped, and fans immediately burst into a frenzy of excitement.

Since then, the show's passionate fanbase has been keeping up with every single update about the upcoming season. While there have been several exciting new casting additions, the biggest update we received was when news broke that the cameras had officially started rolling on The Hunting Wives season 2. That was on Nov. 17, 2025.

Although a confirmed production schedule was never revealed, there was a rumor going around that the cast and crew would be filming for about four months. In fact, What's On Netflix had even reported that the cameras would stop rolling on March 20, 2026. Now, that long-awaited moment has finally come into sharper focus.

The Hunting Wives season 2 wraps most of production

Although not officially confirmed by Netflix just yet, it appears that The Hunting Wives season 2 has finished filming, or at least wrapped the majority of its scenes. On March 1, the wrap party for the highly anticipated second season took place. A woman named Jacqueline Stump shared a bunch of photos on her Instagram page of herself and some of the cast at the event. The caption to the post reads, "About last night…@thehuntingwives wrap party #fangirling."

Now, here's why we think production might still be underway for some people. On March 11, an actor named Tim Packman shared on his X page that he had returned to set for a "midnight wrap" on his final day of filming The Hunting Wives season 2. Obviously, this post was after the wrap party. So, it looks like while the bulk of season  2 has wrapped, a few final scenes or pickups are still being filmed for select cast members.

Maybe there's some truth to What's on Netflix's March 20 rumored wrap date. Perhaps that'll be the day that filming is completely wrapped. However, it seems certain that production will be fully done by the end of March. We'll probably start to see some of the show's main stars take to their social media pages soon to celebrate the official completion of filming. Netflix will probably make a big announcement as well, seeing as how it did when production started. That'll be exciting!

The Hunting Wives season 2 will see the return of Brittany Snow (Sophie), Malin Akerman (Margo), Jaime Ray Newman (Callie), Dermot Mulroney (Jed), Evan Jonigkeit (Graham), George Ferrier (Brad), Karen Rodriguez (Deputy Wanda Salazar), Hunter Emery (Deputy Walter Flynn), and Branton Box (Sheriff Jonny).

Joining the second season as new cast members are Kim Matula (Nadia Kelly), Alex FitzAlan (Lincoln Trout), John Stamos (Chase Brylan), Cam Gigandet (Gentle John Moffitt), Dale Dickey (Zelda Moffitt), Angel Reese (Trainer Barbie), and Casey Mills (Nico).

The first season of The Hunting Wives wrapped up with the mystery solved. Margo killed Abby to cover up her affair with Brad. But the final episode ends on a major cliffhanger with Sophie disposing of Kyle’s body and tension between her and Margo unresolved. The finale sets up a tense and uncertain situation that's perfect for the second season.

Below, we shared the official logline for The Hunting Wives season 2:

“Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?”

The second season is confirmed to be released sometime in 2026. Once Netflix makes the big release date announcement, we'll be sure to come back and let you know. But for now, you must stay tuned to Netflix Life!
