Netflix dropped plenty of great shows this past summer, but the drama series The Hunting Wives stands out as one of its strongest releases. Tons of people tuned in to see what this show was all about, and most were hooked instantly.

Due to a highly successful first season, the streaming giant finally greenlit a second season in September. Since then, fans have been waiting patiently for new updates about the upcoming installment. The last updates shared with the world were that the cameras had officially started rolling and that two returning cast members had been bumped up to series regulars. Now, fans have even more reason to get excited. The Hunting Wives season 2 has just added two new actors to its cast!

According to Deadline, Kim Matula and Alex Fitzalan are the two new faces joining The Hunting Wives cast for its second season. They join returning cast members Brittany Snow (Sophie), Malin Akerman (Margo), Jaime Ray Newman (Callie), Dermot Mulroney (Jed), Evan Jonigkeit (Graham), George Ferrier (Brad), Karen Rodriguez (Deputy Wanda Salazar), Hunter Emery (Deputy Walter Flynn), and Branton Box (Sheriff Jonny).

However, Matula and Fitzalan are not signed on as series regulars. They'll appear as recurring guest stars. Unfortunately, not much is known about who they'll be playing in the second season aside from their characters' names. Matula will play a character named Nadia Kelly, and Fitzalan will portray a character by the name of Lincoln Trout.

With no character details, we've already begun speculating how these new players will shake up the fictional East Texas town of Maple Brook. Could they be people from some of the main characters' pasts? Or perhaps completely new troublemakers, ready to stir up drama? Whoever they are, we're just excited to see what they'll bring to the story next season!

You might recognize Matula from her previous role as Hope Logan in The Bold and the Beautiful. She's also known for starring in other TV shows such as UnReal and LA to Vegas. When it comes to her film work, she most recently starred in the comedy-drama flick Saturday Night. Fitzalan, on the other hand, is best known for starring as Harry in The Society and as Seth in The Wilds. Additionally, his most recent role was playing a character named Maddox in the drama series Prosper.

As mentioned earlier, The Hunting Wives season 2 is currently in production. The cast and crew started shooting the second season on Nov. 17. We're probably looking at a three-month shoot before the cameras stop rolling. That's how long it took to film the first season. Although there isn't a release date yet, there's a good chance we'll see the new installment sometime next year. However, we'll have to get back to you with the official release date once it's announced.

After that shocking cliffhanger ending that saw Sophie run over Margo's brother and then throw him into a large body of water, the second season is sure to start off with a bang. Below, we shared the season 2 logline.

“Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?”

You'll be the first to know as more information comes out about The Hunting Wives season 2. So, make sure to stay tuned to Netflix Life!
