It's been over three months since the release of The Hunting Wives on Netflix, and it's still the talk of the town. While discussions are still being had about what all went down in that jaw-dropping season 1 finale, more people are talking about what's next to come in the highly anticipated second season.

Although not promoted heavily before its premiere, The Hunting Wives still managed to capture the attention of viewers everywhere, quickly becoming a guilty-pleasure obsession for those craving drama, secrets, and scandal. In fact, it ended up being one of the biggest shows of the summer! Due to all its success, Netflix had no choice but to greenlight a second installment in September 2025.

Now all eyes are on The Hunting Wives season 2, and the main question on everyone's mind is when it will come out. Of course, Netflix hasn't announced a release date yet. It's much too early for the streaming giant to set one. However, fans don’t have to wait entirely in suspense. Brittany Snow reveals when production starts on The Hunting Wives season 2

This is great news for The Hunting Wives fans. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, series star Brittany Snow shared with Fallon that a second season of the hit drama series was officially happening and that filming would begin in just two weeks. Of course, we already knew that The Hunting Wives season 2 was in the works. Additionally, there had been rumors that production would start sometime in November. However, what we lacked was a more concrete timeline and one that came from an official source. Well, that's until now.

This episode of The Tonight Show aired on NBC on Oct. 29, and two weeks from that date would put the filming start date right around mid-November. If we wanted to give an exact date, it would be Nov. 12. However, it's more likely that production will start sometime that week. It might not happen on that exact day.

We're probably looking at about three to four months of production before the new episodes move into post-production. For a show like The Hunting Wives, post-production could take about six to eight months. If this does end up happening, then we'd be looking at a potential release somewhere in mid to late 2026. That's our best release prediction for now. We should have a better idea of when the second season could be released once things really start moving.

The first season ended with a drunk Sophie running over Margo's brother, Kyle, with her car before disposing of his body in a nearby lake. Right before she rolled his body into the water, she picked up his ringing phone. It's Margo on the other line, asking where he is. But Sophie doesn't say anything and instead hangs up. Although Margo doesn't know exactly what's going on, she knows it can't be good.

Based on the logline for The Hunting Wives season 2, Sophie and Margo will find themselves on shaky ground at first. But when new enemies and secrets from the past surface, the two will be forced to reunite. Snow and Malin Akerman return as Sophie and Margo. Dermot Mulroney, Jaime Ray Newman, Evan Jonigkeit, and George Ferrier also return for season 2.
