Spellbound, The Empress, and 3 Netflix new releases to watch this weekend (Nov. 22)

As the Thanksgiving holiday and the end of the year quickly approach, there's going to be much more down time from school and work. That means it's time catch up on Netflix new releases and have lots of movie marathons and binge-watches. Thankfully, there's lots coming to our watch lists soon.
Going into the weekend before the week of Thanksgiving, the Netflix top 10 most popular TV shows ranking includes recent releases such as Cobra Kai, which dropped the second part of its final season ahead of its series finale next year, and animated series Arcane.
As for the most popular movies on Netflix right, the sexy Netflix original holiday rom-coms The Merry Gentlemen and Hot Frosty are still bringing in viewers, but there's still plenty more movies to discover on the top 10 ranking and in the weekend's new release lineup.

Spellbound
Put a little magic into family movie night with the new Netflix original animated film Spellbound. The musical adventure fantasy takes place in the land of Lumbria as a young girl must bravely strive to break the spell placed on her home that has turned her parents into monsters.
Spellbound features the voices of Rachel Zegler, Nicole Kidman, John Lithgow, Javier Bardem, Jenifer Lewis, Tituss Burgess, and Nathan Lane and the music of frequent Disney composer Alan Menken. It's sure to become a new favorite for little Netflix watchers when it premieres on Nov. 22.
The Empress season 2
It's been two years since the German historical drama series The Empress mades its debut on Netflix in September 2022 and became a fan-favorite. But it's finally time for The Empress season 2 to make its long awaited premiere on Nov. 22, and it's going to be juicy.
Fresh from their wedding, Elisabeth and Franz return to Schönbrunn Palace and the pressure is back on regarding an heir to the throne and powerful enemies closing in. It's a fight for the young couple, the young empress especially, to maintain peace, power, and family.
The Piano Lesson
Many Netflix movies have been attracting some awards and Oscar buzz this season, including the likes of Emilia Pérez, Angelina Jolie in Maria, Anna Kendrick's Woman of the Hour, and Malcolm Washington's The Piano Lesson. The latter film debuts on Nov. 22.
Based on the August Wilson play of the same name, The Piano Lesson takes place in Pittsburgh following the Great Depression and follows a family and their prized heirloom piano that holds lots of history. With its stacked cast and captivating premise, this one's not to be missed.
