With just one successful couple, does Love Is Blind season 5 really need an After the Altar special?

Its been about four months since Love Is Blind season 5 wrapped up with its reunion and we haven't heard anything from Netflix regarding the usual "After the Altar" special that follows up with the couples after they tied the knot.

Season 6 of the hit dating show debuts on February 14, and in every season prior to this one, Netflix has released the previous season's "After the Altar" before the next season begins, so it's starting to look like season 5 will not get a follow-up special.

The fifth season of the show was unorthodox, to say the least. Only two couples made it to the altar and only one of them got married. Season 5 was also the shortest season so far, with just 11 episodes compared to the usual 12-16.

Does Love Is Blind season 5 deserve an 'After the Altar' special?

Given that only one couple made it to the end, it's hard to say if we need an extra segment, though I still think it would have been worthwhile to produce at least one episode. It would have been interesting to follow-up with Stacy and Izzy again and see what they're up to after all this time. There are rumors that Izzy will be competing on the second season of Netflix's other dating show Perfect Match.

Plus, even though Lydia and Milton were the only couple to make it to the end, it seems kind of unfair for them to be the first one to get shafted from an "After the Altar" special. There are other season 5 contestants it would be worth checking on, too, such as Taylor Rue and Jared "JP" Pierce, who initially got engaged but then broke up before the Mexico retreat was over.

Taylor recently appeared in a Love Is Blind advert to announce a new "Love is Wine" chardonnay by Cupcake Vineyards.

Uche also caused quite a debate online and on the show, though he didn't attend the reunion and seems to have moved on from the show so he might not have wanted to participate in a follow-up anyway.

Are Lydia and Milton still married?

Yes! Lydia and Milton are still going strong and recently visited the Rock Museum in North Carolina, which is a very fitting place for them to hang out based on what we saw on the show. They appear to be doing really well together.

Love Is Blind season 6 premieres on February 14.
