Love Is Blind season 5: Are Izzy and Stacy married?

Ismael “Izzy” Zapata and Stacy Snyder are one of only two couples to make to the altar in Love Is Blind season 5 and now that the finale episode is streaming on Netflix, we can discuss what happens between them, because there is kind of a lot to cover.

Spoilers ahead for the Love Is Blind season 5 finale

Both Izzy/Stacy and Milton/Lydia are rather polarizing matches, but Izzy, in particular, has been getting a lot more criticism in recent weeks due to his weird behavior toward Johnie Maraist, one of the other cast members he had a connection with during the pods.

In the most recent batch of episodes, Stacy and Izzy basically gang up Bad Girls Club-style on Johnie during a pod gathering, belittling her and calling her sketchy repeatedly, not to mention casting judgment on her budding relationship with Chris Fox. To make things weirder, after the argument, Izzy tells Stacy he got “turned on” watching her “rail” into Johnie. Ick.

Stacy realizes Izzy only seems to show this outpouring of affection for her when he’s comparing her to Johnie. It seems like one of those “doth protest too much” situations where Izzy either isn’t over Johnie, or he’s narcissistic enough to be pissed she moved on from him so quickly.

Regardless, the tension spills over at home and Stacy and Izzy get into an argument themselves that ends with Izzy crying on the floor in a closet…yeah. It’s not looking good for their relationship.

LOVE IS BLIND SEASON 5 SPOILERS AHEAD

According to the records from the Harris County Clerk’s Office in Texas, Stacy and Izzy did not get married. Their marriage license was issued on May 20, 2022, but it was never returned or officiated.

Now that the Love Is Blind season 5 finale has aired, we can officially confirm that the pair do not get married. Izzy says yes at the altar, but Stacy says no. However, Stacy wants to continue dating Izzy, while Izzy seems done with their relationship.

Actually, Izzy turns kind of nasty in the aftermath. Stacy has nothing but nice things to say about Izzy in the post-altar footage, while Izzy implies something is wrong with Stacy because she’s 33 and unmarried (he was 29 at the time of filming).

He also makes some snarky comment about the usual “rich 46-year-old men” she dates and fails with and makes multiple comments about “putting looks aside,” which seems to be a dig at Stacy’s appearance? I don’t know but that guy gives me bad vibes and can’t take any responsibility for being shady over his credit score/lying about it.

The Love Is Blind season 5 reunion airs this Sunday, October 15, so I’m sure we’ll learn more about the couple then.

Izzy photographed hanging out with a mystery woman

On October 6, TMZ shared snapshots taken of Izzy hanging out with an unnamed blond woman at a tattoo shop in Hermosa Beach, California. Later, Izzy also shared photos of himself on his Instagram wearing the same outfit he was wearing in the TMZ images, suggesting his companion might have taken them.

According to the outlet, witnesses say the pair looked affectionate and that Izzy had his hand on her leg at one point. It’s not exactly damning evidence, but given that the records indicate Izzy and Stacy aren’t getting married in the finale, we can safely assume they’re also not dating or still engaged.

Rumors suggest Izzy might be in Perfect Match season 2

The cast for Perfect Match season 2 hasn’t been revealed yet, but there have been a lot of rumors ciruclating on social media, especially Reddit and TikTok where online sleuths have potentially figured out most of the cast members already.

A while back, a cast leak for the show suggested that season 2 cast members might include Micah Lussier and Irina Solomonova from Love Is Blind season 4, plus season 1 winner Dom Gabriel, and maybe Izzy from Love Is Blind season 5.

A lot of this speculation came from when Micah, Izzy, and several other rumored participants all posted photographs on their respective Instagram accounts from what appeared to be the same location where the show was presumably filming.

Basically everything has been wiped from the internet now, so either it was a little marketing ploy or they messed up and Netflix made all the cast members scrub everything from their social media. Keep in mind, these are all just rumors and speculation right now, so nothing is confirmed.

Izzy dating someone new wouldn’t impact Perfect Match, since the show reportedly wrapped filming already. It would just mean that if he does win or get into a relationship on there, we know it probably doesn’t work out in the long run. Perfect Match doesn’t really seem to be about forming long-lasting connections anyway, based on all the drama that came from the first season.
