It's the first weekend in June, which means a lot of us will be celebrating the unofficial start of summer. Whether you're enjoying the warm weather outdoors this weekend or hiding away in the comfort your air conditioned home, you want something good to watch on Netflix at the end of the day.
Ahead of next week's release of Bridgerton season 3 part 2, Netflix drops a pair of high-profile new releases that everyone should tune into this weekend. Hot movie star of the moment Glen Powell releases his latest film on the streamer, while the final season of a beloved fan-favorite Netflix original series hits us all in the feels.
Here are the new movies and shows worth adding to your Netflix watch list this weekend!
Netflix movies to watch this weekend
The biggest new Netflix movie release of this weekend comes in the form of Glen Powell's romantic dark comedy Hit Man. Richard Linklater directed the movie co-written by himself and Powell, in which the Anyone But You star plays a college professor turned fake hitman helping the police department catch criminals. Along the way, his new moonlighting gig turns complicated when he falls for a woman looking to hire him to kill her husband. Yikes!
Beyond Hit Man, Netflix also drops the hit 2018 romantic comedy film Crazy Rich Asians, which is based on the book of the same name and stars Constance Wu and Henry Golding. Currently, the No. 1 movie on the streamer is the French shark movie Under Paris, which is the perfect watch for summer. Also in the top 10 ranking going into the weekend is Godzilla Minus One, 300: Rise of an Empire, The Lego Movie, Home, Divergent, A Million Ways to Die in the West, and more!

The biggest new release series of the weekend on Netflix is none other than Sweet Tooth season 3, which is the final season of the beloved fantasy series.
