In Sweet Tooth season 3, everything comes to a close with Gus and friends working together to save the world.

But how does everything wrap up exactly? Is a cure found for the Sick? Do humans and hybrids survive? Do Gus and his mother reunite? We answered all these questions and more right below.

Spoilers ahead from Sweet Tooth season 3!

Does Birdie die in Sweet Tooth season 3?

Sadly, Birdie does die in the third season. However, she does get the chance to be reunited with Gus before she meets her demise. They're reunited after the first hybrid, who we find out is named Munaqsriri, rescues Gus and takes him back to his cabin in the Arctic. There, Gus reunites with Birdie. But it's in the cave where everything started, aka the Sick and hybrids, that Birdie meets her end. She dies in the penultimate episode of the season.

As Gus, Jepperd, and Birdie make their way through the cave where the Sick and the hybrids started, they come across a huge tree with an axe stuck in it. This is revealed to be Dr. James Thacker's axe. In 1911, he ventured into this very cave in search of a cure for all illnesses, and while he did find it, he became greedy and took more than he should by hacking into the tree to get the sap aka the "blood of the earth." Since he disturbed nature, nature decided to punish not only him but all of humanity by unleashing the deadly Sick virus. This also caused the hybrid births.

As Gus, Jepperd, and Birdie decide what to do about the tree and axe, Mrs. Zhang suddenly appears with her minions and Dr. Singh. Dr. Singh and Zhang believe that Gus must be killed in the cave in order for the virus to go away and for there to be a restart of human birth. But just as Dr. Singh is about to stab Gus with a knife, Jepperd and Birdie run in front of Gus to save him. While it initially looks like Jepperd is fatally stabbed, it turns out to be Birdie. Gus and Birdie share an emotional goodbye before Birdie is taken away by Zhang's henchman.

Was a cure found for the Sick?

Technically, no cure was found for the Sick. What ends up happening is that Gus lets nature decide on the fate of humans and hybrids just like when nature decided in the past when it unleashed a deadly disease on humanity. After Gus sets the huge tree in the cave on fire, he waits to see what nature decides to do. In the end, nature decides to show the remaining humans mercy by letting them live out the rest of their days Sick-free. The Sick was buried for good in the cave. But they would be the last of the human race because hybrids would eventually inherit the earth. So, humans and hybrids do survive in the end.

Does Dr. Singh die in Sweet Tooth season 3?

Yes, he dies in the season 3 finale. After finally coming to his senses and realizing that killing Gus is wrong, Dr. Singh decides to help Gus and Jepperd escape from Zhang and the cave. But his plan is thwarted when Zhang pulls out the axe from the tree. By doing so, nature decides to punish her and the rest of the remaining humans by instantly giving them the Sick. Luckily, Gus saves the day in the end, and the Sick goes away. But after he sets the tree on fire, the cave starts coming down, forcing everyone inside it to quickly evacuate. A big rock suddenly falls from the top of the cave and is about to drop on Gus, but Dr. Singh hurries up and pushes him out of the way, ultimately sacrificing himself.

Jordan is another character that dies in the season 3 finale. As Jordan drives the Beast to the cave, Bear suddenly hops in the vehicle and intentionally crashes it to stop it from going any further. While Bear survives the crash, Jordan does not.

How does Sweet Tooth season 3 end?

With the Sick officially gone, humans are able to spend whatever remaining time they had left together. While Siana, Nuka, and Zhang's minions decide to come together to rebuild the outpost, Gus, Jepperd, Wendy, and Bear decide to meet up with the other hybrid kids back at home where they build their own fortress. Meanwhile, Rosie and her human-wolf kids spend time with her younger sister and her new hybrid baby. Elsewhere, Zhang is left in the icy-cold Arctic. We even see a cut to the future where we see an elderly Gus and Wendy sitting around a campfire talking to a bunch of hybrid kids. Gus and Wendy are together as a couple, and one of the hybrid kids is revealed to be their grandchild.

The last scene of the series flashes back to the present time. Gus and Jepperd sit outside their new safe haven, each drinking a bottle of maple syrup. They turn to each other and smile before the show cuts to the credits.
