The summer season is upon us, and you can always count on Netflix to kick things off with plenty of shows and movies to keep us cool and comfortable away from the rising temperatures. Looking to beat the heat? Well, with new titles like Bridgerton, Hitman, and A Family Affair coming, the stars of these hot new releases might not be much help.
As mentioned above, the culmination of Bridgerton's highly anticipated third season will likely be the biggest new series release on Netflix in June 2024. However, Sweet Tooth debuts its own third season and says farewell in one fell swoop. When it comes to movies, Netflix is bringing out the stars this summer, with Glen Powell, Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman, and Zac Efron leading new hits.
But it's not just all Netflix originals making noise on the streaming service this summer. The complete series of How I Met Your Mother returns to the streamer at the top of June for fans to relive all the inside jokes and gags from all nine seasons of the beloved sitcom. Beyond HIMYM, there are also lots of documentaries, anime, comedy specials, and more to enjoy.

Sweet Tooth season 3
Release Date: June 6
It's the end of an era! After three thrilling and heartfelt seasons, Netflix's original series Sweet Tooth comes to an official close with its final season, which premieres on June 6. The final season takes us on an adventure to find Gus' mother, encountering a new threat, and learn the fate of humanity. The eight-episode season was designed as the final run and will answer every question fans have. You might even need to have the tissues nearby. The ending could very well make us cry!
Bridgerton season 3 part 2
Release Date: June 13
Colin and Penelope's season continues on June 13 with the four final episodes of Bridgerton season 3. The second part of the season, which is comprised of episode 5-8, will pick up where episode 4 leaves off and take us on a rollercoaster ride to the season's big finish. But don't worry! Even after season 3 ends, we have season 4 to look forward to, and word on the street is that the new episodes could begin filming right around the time we wrap up with Colin and Penelope.
Supacell
Release Date: June 27
Need a bit more action and science fiction on your watch list this summer? Well, Netflix delivers in that department with the British drama series Supacell debuting in June. The six-episode series centers on five average people in South London who all mysteriously develop superpowers, but the only thing this group of people has is that they are Black. In order to save the woman he loves, one of these five people joins forces with the group to figure it all out.
Hit Man
Release Date: June 7
Fresh off the Netflix victory lap of his blockbuster romantic comedy Anyone But You, the Glen Powell takeover continues with the worldwide streaming release of his next pic Hit Man on June 7. The movie from Richard Linklater is based on a true story and stars Powell as a professor who becomes a fake hit man for the New Orleans Police Department. His new role takes him down dangerous and unexpected paths for a comedy that packs a real punch.
Trigger Warning
Release Date: June 21
Jessica Alba is back! The talented actress returns with her new movie Trigger Warning, a Netflix original that also stars The Night Agent breakout Gabriel Basso. Dark Angel AND the Night Agent?! June 21 can't come soon enough! In the film, Alba plays a grief-stricken Special Forces commando looking into the truth behind the death of her father. Don't miss a minute of the emotional action movie that's the perfect summer flick!
A Family Affair
Release Date: June 28
It's the weirdest love triangle of all time in A Family Affair when a young woman, played but The Kissing Booth star Joey King, discovers that her mother (played by Nicole Kidman) has been dating her former boss (played by Zac Efron). The movie, which makes its premiere on Netflix on June 28, reunites The Paperboy costars Kidman and Efron for a romantic comedy that's sure to be a fan-favorite summer hit.
