It's the last full week of August, a month that has brought so many great new Netflix shows and movies. Throughout the past month, the streaming service has released the latest seasons of fan favorite shows like The Umbrella Academy, Unstable, and Emily in Paris, while also debuting hit movies and docuseries such as The Union and American Murder: Laci Peterson.

Even though this week's a bit on the lighter side when it comes to Netflix new releases (there are only 10 new titles hitting the streamer this week), there are still plenty of can't-miss movies and shows primed to fill up our watch lists. Following last week's explosion of AMC series, this week's the perfect week to catch up on what you've missed and/or try out some new Netflix originals.

Going into the last week of August, a number of carryover titles remain in the top 10, from a number of AMC favorites like A Discovery of Witches and Dark Winds to recent new series The Accident and Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War. But what else will be hitting the top 10 this week?

Here are four of the best Netflix new releases to watch this week, beginning below with Adam Sandler's brand new stand-up comedy special.

Adam Sandler: Love You

While he's working on Happy Gilmore 2 with Netflix, Adam Sandler debuts his latest stand-up comedy special on Aug. 27 called Adam Sander: Love You. In the special directed by Josh Safdie, Sandler brings his signature laid back sense of humor to the stage and also plays a few songs.

It's the actor and comedian's second Netflix comedy special after Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh in 2018. Sandler has been collaborating with Netflix on original content for nearly a decade and shows no signs of slowing down. If you need a laugh this week, here's your best bet!

Worst Ex Ever

On the completely opposite side of the spectrum from a stand-up comedy special, the true crime documentary series Worst Ex Ever makes its premiere on Aug. 28, and it's sure to send a chill up your spine.

From the same team that brought you the equally chilling Worst Roommate Ever, the new offshoot shares dating horror stories you won't soon forget, not unlike the roommate edition's wild true stories about nightmarish roommates. The four-episode docuseries likely won't be for the faint of heart, so make sure you know what you're getting into before you start binge-watching!

Terminator Zero

Fans of the Terminator movies might love trying out Netflix's new anime series Terminator Zero when it premieres on Aug. 29. The series centers on a soldier and a scientist as they attempt to thwart the AI entity known as Skynet from carrying out an attack in the future. It's a thrilling, action-packed, and surely emotional ride. Don't miss a second when the show drops this week!

Breathless

Looking for a new medical drama series to sink your teeth into before all of the broadcast shows return this fall? Well, Netflix premieres the Spanish medical drama Breathless on Aug. 30 and it's the perfect pick for fans of hit titles on Netflix like Grey's Anatomy, New Amsterdam, and The Resident.

Breathless takes place in a public hospital's emergency room where pace is fast and the staff is in close quarters. (Use your imagination!) However, when the hospital receives a high-profile patient, the complexities of public health come to light and force the hospital's staff into a difficult situation. The eight-episode series comes from the creators of Elite, so you know it will be steamy and full of drama!
