The king of manifestation strikes again! After addressing a fan theory that he would appear in Adam Sandler's forthcoming Happy Gilmore sequel, Travis Kelce has officially landed a cameo role in the Netflix movie. Sandler made the announcement of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end's appearance in Happy Gilmore 2 during a stop at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Kelce previously spoke about the prospect of him appearing in the sequel on his New Heights podcast back in May 2024. He said, "I'll be a f**king extra, anything to get around Happy Gilmore or an Adam Sandler film or set, count me in." Kelce went on to say that he's a huge fan of the "Sandman," and he even wore a Happy Gilmore hat while attending Coachella with girlfriend Taylor Swift.

While appearing on The Tonight Show to promote his upcoming Netflix comedy special Adam Sandler: Love You (premiering Aug. 27), Sandler revealed that Happy Gilmore 2 would begin filming in New Jersey in a "couple weeks" and teased the upcoming cameos in the sequel by professional golfers and the three-time Super Bowl champion.

"Travis, he mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis. He's gonna come by, and he's a very nice guy, you guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He's a stud, and he's so funny."

Even though he's known as a star athlete on the football field, Kelce's also known to hit the golf course in the offseason and compete in charity golf tournaments. Just this past summer, Kelce played in the ACC Celebrity Golf Championship alongside his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. Clearly, he knows how to ball in more ways than one.

Sandler didn't reveal what Kelce would be getting up to in the sequel, whether he'll play himself or another character Happy encounters on the links. The Chiefs are gearing up to commence their regular season on Sept. 5, which could make scheduling Kelce's cameo a bit tricky, though surely they will be able to find a workaround. After all, the Chiefs have a bye week in October.

Happy Gilmore 2 marks the latest foray into the acting and on-camera world for Kelce, as he's continued to pursue gigs outside of the NFL. He's set for a role in the Ryan Murphy horror series Grotesquerie, which premieres on Sept. 25 on FX, and he's the host of Amazon Prime Video's game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, which premieres on Oct. 16.

In addition to those two series coming this fall, Kelce also landed his first leading role in a movie. On Aug. 20, his casting in the upcoming action comedy Loose Cannons was announced. The movie comes from John Wick producer Chad Stahleski and writer Tim Dowling, who worked with Adam Sandler on the romantic comedy Just Go with It.

Before Happy Gilmore 2 eventually makes its premiere on Netflix sometime in 2025, Kelce can of course be seen on the streaming service this Christmas, when Netflix hosts two NFL games. The Chiefs will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas, only available to watch on Netflix. It's all coming up Kelce, and it's so exciting for his fans (and the Swifties).
