People We Meet on Vacation movie adds four fan-favorite Netflix vets to cast

Last month, we were so excited to learn that Netflix would be bringing not one but two of Emily Henry's most popular bestsellers to life. While Jennifer Lopez will be producing a series adaptation of Happy Place for Netflix, the streamer will also be adapting People We Meet on Vacation as a movie. The film's leading stars have already been set, and now we're learning who's joined the cast.

In the leading roles as the book's main characters Poppy Wright and Alex Nilsen, People We Meet on Vacation will star Emily Bader and Tom Blyth. Both are rising stars and excellent choices for these characters. Bader and Blyth will be joined by four familiar faces that we have all definitely watched in various Netflix movies and shows before.

On Sept. 18, Netflix announced that Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Lucien Laviscount, and Lukas Gage have booked their ticket for this vacation! Their roles haven't been confirmed just yet, but those who have read the book can probably make some educated guesses. Jamil could likely play Poppy's boss Swapna, while Hook might portray Poppy's best friend Rachel or Alex's on-off girlfriend Sarah. Maybe Gage will be one of Poppy's brothers? We can't wait to find out!

All four of the new People We Meet on Vacation cast additions has been no stranger to Netflix over the years. Jameela Jamil, who broke out on NBC's The Good Place, can still be seen in the beloved comedy series on the streamer. he was also the narrator of the hit Netflix original romantic comedy movie Love at First Sight, which was released back in September 2023.

Sarah Catherine Hook was one of the two leading stars of the short-lived but cult favorite teen supernatural series First Kill. The show was released in 2022 and became instantly adored by its fans, but Netflix opted not to renew a second season. Now fans will have the chance to watch Hook again on Netflix in People We Meet on Vacation.

Lukas Gage has probably made the most Netflix appearances of them all, having had a recurring role in American Vandal and a guest role in an episode of On My Block. While Gage had bigger roles outside of Netflix in shows like Euphoria, The White Lotus, Angelyne, and Love, Victor, he returned to Netflix as a series regular in You season 4 and in a recurring role in the now-canceled Dead Boy Detectives.

And finally, everyone knows Lucien Laviscount as one of Emily's love interests in Emily in Paris. The actor has appeared in the hit Netflix original romantic comedy series as Alfie since season 2. He became a series regular in season 3 and he recurred in the just-released season 4. Who else can't wait to see what the movie has in store for Laviscount?!
