Outer Banks season 4 part 1 trailer teases dangerous new treasure hunt
By Reed Gaudens
Whether they like it or not, the Pogues are back in the "G game" in Outer Banks season 4 part 1. On Sept. 24, Netflix released the official full trailer for the upcoming new season of the fan-favorite series, and once again, there's a lot at stake for our favorite characters as a new treasure hunt comes across their collective desk at the right moment. See: Financial desperation.
Outer Banks season 4 part 1 will fill in the gaps of what happened between the Pogues discovering El Dorado and the time jump that finds them accepting a request to track down Blackbeard's treasure. As the trailer hints, the group was living it up with their earnings, creating their own perfect oasis and a new version of their island homeland Poguelandia.
Suddenly, the find themselves in debt, which leads them back into the gold game. Their reputations as the elite treasure hunters in the Outer Banks precedes them! While they weigh their options before taking on the call to get into some more trouble, they accept the dangerous mission — either for the love of adventure or for their immediate need for some cash.
Outer Banks season 4 trailer previews hunt for Blackbeard's treasure
In true Outer Banks fashion, it wouldn't be a Pogue adventure if it didn't turn into a fight for their lives. The trailer teases at least one dead body, more menacing bad guys coming after them, the cops hot on their trail, fire, explosions, and pressure from the Kooks. Even though Madelyn Cline previously said season 4 had "a sense of looming finality," it looks like the biggest season yet!

Without giving much away in regards to what he's up to, the trailer also gives a slight tease at Drew Starkey making his return as Sarah's brother Rafe. The season 3 finale left Rafe's whereabouts up in the air, but he's sure to place himself directly in the Pogues' crosshairs soon enough. There's also an appearance in the trailer from Topper, who taunts Sarah about her Pogue life.
The most intriguing bit of the trailer has to be John B and JJ seemingly involved in motocross or BMX or some sort of extreme biking sport. Will they take on a side hustle to make some quick cash? Let's just hope no one gets hurt because you can't hunt down Blackbeard's treasure with a broken bone... though it's not as if the Pogues haven't sustained major injuries and kept going.
Following the release of Outer Banks season 4 part 1 on Oct. 10, we won't even have to wait a full month before Outer Banks season 4 part 2 begins streaming on Nov. 7. The 10-episode season was split into two five-episode halves. Some probably would have preferred to watch season 4 all in one go, but for the first time, we can savor a full adventure with the Pogues for a bit longer!
Watch Outer Banks season 4 part 1 on Oct. 10 only on Netflix.
