A Family Affair release updates, cast, synopsis, clip, and more

Netflix will be releasing a romantic comedy film titled A Family Affair in the fall of 2023. Once you find out what it’s about and who’s a part of the cast, you’re going to want to see this film right away!

A Family Affair is an upcoming Netflix original movie set to be directed by Richard LaGravenese from a screenplay co-written by LaGravenese himself and Carrie Solomon. LaGravenese is best known for writing and directing the films P.S. I Love You and The Last Five Years. Also, Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Alyssa Altman are producing through Roth/Kirschenbaum Films.

A Family Affair production schedule

What’s on Netflix reported that filming would be scheduled to start in early August and wrap sometime in October 2022. Production would be taking place in Atlanta, Georgia.

During the Bullet Train premiere, actress Joey King revealed that she was going to start production on the movie on Aug. 2, which is on track with earlier reports from What’s On Netflix. It’s unknown when filming wrapped, though.

It was initially believed that A Family Affair would be released this November, but according to a new report from What’s On Netflix, A Family Affair is one of six films that have been pushed to 2024.

The only cast members announced so far are Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman, Neighbors‘ Zac Efron, and The In Between‘s Joey King.  All three actors star in the leading roles that are currently under wraps.

This isn’t the first time Kidman and Efron have worked together. They both starred in the crime drama film The Paperboy. Also, this isn’t Kidman, Efron, or King’s first project with Netflix. Kidman had a role in the Netflix musical film The Prom. Efron has a movie titled Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and an original series titled Down to Earth with Zac Efron currently streaming on Netflix. Lastly, King starred in the lead role in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth trilogy.

On August 4, 2022, it was announced that Kathy Bates and Liza Koshy had joined the cast of the movie, according to Deadline, although it is not yet clear who they are playing.
