Dune: Part Two isn't streaming on Netflix (here's where it'll eventually stream)

The highly-anticipated release of Dune: Part Two is finally here! Those of you who are hardcore fans, I'm sure you've already purchased your tickets to see the movie on the big screen. That's because right now upon its release on March 1, 2024, Dune Part 2 is only available in theaters. But, it will come to streaming eventually.

Though the first Dune movie was added to Netflix in October 2023 and that was a real treat, it was removed on Feb. 29, 2024. Which isn't a surprise as Warner Bros. Pictures will want to capitalize on fans wanting to watch it with the sequel now out. This does mean that it's very unlikely the second movie, starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, will stream on Netflix immediately after theaters.

So where will the film be available to watch online then? Dune: Part Two will be streaming on Max after theaters. While we don't have an exact streaming release date, The Direct did share an update from Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav. At the Warner Bros. Q4 earnings call, the CEO said the plan is to add Dune Part 2 to Max sometime in spring 2024. That could be anytime between the end of March and the end of June. We'll have to wait and see.

Max has the following plans to choose from:

• Ad-Free - $15.99/month
• Ultimate Ad-Free - $19.99/month

Now is it possible the sequel film will stream on Netflix at a later date? Potentially. Though if I had to take a guess, I'd say it wouldn't be any time soon. The first Dune movie made $434.8 million with a $165 million budget. I really am expecting Dune: Part Two to make even more! Since the movie has been delayed quite a few times, the anticipation is very high and fans are super excited for the production.

So I think for a good while, Warner Bros. and Max will want to take advantage of that and only make the epic sci-fi available on the company's streaming service exclusively. There's a possibility Dune Part 2 will stream on Netflix in March 2026. The first movie came out in October 2021, and then was added to Netflix two years later in October 2023. So perhaps the two streamers will agree to do the same with this second installment.
