To keep it succinct and to the point, we're sharing seven new Netflix original movies that will most definitely be on your radar.

  • The Menendez Brothers (documentary)
  • Don't Move (thriller)
  • Lonely Planet (romantic comedy)
  • Woman of the Hour (drama thriller)
  • Family Pack (fantasy comedy)
  • Time Cut (teen horror)

Which of these movies are worth watching right away on their release dates and which can probably be skipped for another time? Let's get this recommendations list started!

It's What's Inside

Watch! Who doesn't love a good horror movie with a sense of humor? It's What's Inside made its premiere on Netflix on Oct. 4, and it's sure to become a cult classic if not a huge hit. The film centers on a group of friends gathering for a pre-wedding party. But when a mysterious suitcase brings them to a collective existential nightmare, it's not quite a party anymore. For fans of horror movies looking to start the official spooky season off on the right not, this one's a must-watch.

The Menendez Brothers

Watch! Following the release of the predictably controversial Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story from Ryan Murphy, Netflix will next release a documentary series centered on the Menendez brothers case. The film, which releases on Oct. 7, features audio interviews with both Lyle and Erik as the case becomes reexamined through a modern lens. Ahead of the documentary's releases, the brother scored a huge win when they landed a new court hearing set for November. Check out the documentary to hear all the facts from the case.

Don't Move

Skip! There are horror movies that are perfect for horror fans, and then there are horror movies that might not be especially palatable for casual horror fans. Don't Move can slot into the latter category. While the movie, which hits Netflix on Oct. 25 ahead of Halloween, features an excellent cast led by Kelsey Asbille and Finn Wittrock, the synopsis will leave some viewers feeling a certain way. In the movie, a women falls under the effects of a paralytic agent and must run for her life from a stranger before she can't run anymore. Scary! Skip if that doesn't sound like a fun time to you.

Lonely Planet

Watch! Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth. In a romantic comedy. Set in Morocco. Are you not already sold?! Lonely Planet stars the talented duo as an author with writer's block (Dern) and a handsome younger man (Hemsworth) who strike up a meaningful connection while on a retreat and engage in a powerful love affair. Even though you can likely predict what will happen in the movie, who doesn't want to watch two movie stars in a romantic comedy set in a beautiful location? Anyone who's on board should no question add the movie to their watch list immediately on Oct. 11.

Woman of the Hour

Watch! Academy Award nominated actress and Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick makes her directorial debut in the new Netflix original thriller Woman of the Hour. Kendrick stars as a contestant on The Dating Game who becomes the new fascination of a serial killer stalking women. As a fan of Anna Kendrick's work for years, I'm personally super excited to watch her take the next step as an artist and become a director. Knowing the star, the movie's sure to pack a punch but have a bit of humor thrown in here and there amid the important message. Don't miss it on Oct. 18!

Family Pack

Skip! The French family comedy movie Family Pack will likely become a hit on Netflix upon its release on Oct. 23, but that doesn't mean that every single family should rush to watch the movie. Sure, it the adventure flick, which centers on a family traveling back to Medieval times when a card game comes to life, will have certain spooks that are perfect for the season. But if you're looking for a good family comedy to watch on Halloween or during spooky season, you probably already have your favorites picked out. Save this one for another time!

Time Cut

Watch! It's the Outer Banks and Ginny & Georgia crossover we didn't know we needed but are so grateful to have. No, the hit Netflix teen dramas aren't actually planning a crossover episode in the near future. Rather, stars from each series are leading the new Netflix teen horror movie Time Cut. The movie follows a teenage girl as she finds herself back in the 2000s to prevent her sister's death at the hands of a killer. Time Cut is like when two Disney Channel stars from different shows teamed up to star together in a DCOM. Nostalgia! Catch the new hit when it releases on day before Halloween.
