As if the central romance at the center of Netflix's new hit romantic comedy series wasn't enough, some Nobody Wants This fans have picked up on the chemistry between Morgan (Justine Lupe) and Sasha (Timothy Simons) and started shipping. Morgan's crush on Sasha picked up steam by the end of the season as Joanne and Noah's "loser siblings" grew closer as unlikely friends.

With Joanne and Noah now secure in the forward momentum in their relationship, the group of viewers who ship Morgan and Sasha have been hoping to see the siblings act on the sparks between them in the recently confirmed Nobody Wants This season 2. Well, you're going to have to keep dreaming about a loser sibling romance arc because it's not happening.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series creator, executive producer, and season 1 co-showrunner Erin Foster shut down any predictions that might have been lingering about Morgan and Sasha getting romantic in season 2. Instead, the series will "reposition" the characters and take them down a different path. Keep reading to hear Foster's explanation.

Morgan and Sasha aren't getting together in Nobody Wants This season 2

In the weeks since Nobody Want This was released on Netflix and attained widespread popularity, there has been so much conversation about the series. Whether it's the depictions of Judaism, women, familial relationships, or what have you, everyone's talking about the series. The conversation right now revolves around the show's other main characters.

A fan edit of Morgan and Sasha went viral on social media with over 1 million views and 11K likes and counting. The virality of the video inspired a debate that seemed to be split down the middle: Those who want to see Morgan and Sasha get together in season 2 and those who don't want to see Sasha cheat on his wife Esther (Jackie Tohn) with Morgan. There's no real consensus.

The post that went viral and instigated the debate featured the caption (in all caps!), "We don't give a f-ck about platonic relationships, we want them to cheat," while others countered with, "Let men and women just be friends please for the love of God" (which was also in all caps. Others came in right in the middle or defended those who sought the potential conflict the coupling would bring: "Like, damn, they just wanna be entertained by conflict in a plot of a TV show."

However, series creator Erin Foster chimed in on the subject without really addressing the fan conversation surrounding the two characters. Foster admitted that the budding feelings between Morgan and Sasha will be wrapped up early in season 2 in order to maintain the show's integrity. It doesn't seem to be a response to the current conversation, just the natural progresison of the story.

Here's what Foster told The Hollywood Reporter about the characters' direction in season 2:

"I think we’re going to wrap up their weird 'Is it romantic?' thing. Because we want to see them together in season two, hanging out. We want to see Esther. I think we went down that road enough that now we’re going to pull back and reposition so we can have them all in scenes together without [Morgan] being like, a full homewrecker. But we’re going to give Morgan something very fun. Justine came in and we pitched it to her and she was like, 'This is my dream storyline.' It’s so fun."

Erin Foster, creator

Even though Foster seems to have taken a Morgan and Sasha affair off the table for season 2, that doesn't mean the characters won't continue to grow their relationship. They can still have the same chemistry while being platonic and without delving into an adultery storyline that would have direct negative impacts on Joanne and Noah. How would their siblings engaging in a cheating scandal serve their story, which is the entire basis of the series?

Just because Foster plans to extinguish the show's secondary "will they or won't they" relationship doesn't mean Nobody Wants This will suffer in season 2. There are so many exciting and hilarious shenanigans Morgan and Sasha can get up to together and separately. Foster also teased that Lupe heard Morgan's season 2 storyline pitch and couldn't be more excited. Consider us excited, too.
