Netflix teases extended first look at Beauty in Black season 3 in dramatic trailer

Although it might feel like summer's over or rapidly on its way out, there are still plenty of exciting summer days left and some of those include more Netflix binge-watches. Ever since Netflix revealed the Beauty in Black season 3 release date, the countdown is on for the Tyler Perry drama series' highly anticipated return on Aug. 27. Then maybe we can start to mourn summer.

Beauty in Black season 3 arrives much earlier than the initial suggestion that the fan-favorite wouldn't be back with new episodes until 2027, and there's a lot more to celebrate since the third season won't be the show's final season after all. When Netflix renewed the series for season 3, it was intended to be the last batch of episodes, but season 4 is now on the way.

But before fans can get too pumped up for the fourth season, we still have the third season speeding toward our watch lists later this month with the continuation of the story after the epic and game-changing season 2 finale. On Aug. 5, Netflix dropped the official Beauty in Black season 3 trailer, which previews all the of the drama, backstabbing, and twists to come.

Beauty in Black season 3 trailer previews the Bellarie family feud

As you can see from the Beauty in Black season 3, there are some major shifts in power coming down the pipeline following the FBI arrests that were made in the second season's finale. Kimmie and Mallory have an alliance after the raid, giving Kimmie more access than ever to the company. But how long can not only the alliance but the good fortune last?

Throughout the trailer, there are clips of blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments that will add up to some unexpected drama, like a person's legs being run over by a car, Kimmie being warned that she doesn't know everything she needs to, and Olivia cautioning that she's about to go "nuclear." Fights, feuds, threats, and battle lines drawn in the sand still stand to flip the script all over again.

Take a closer look at what to expect from Beauty in Black season 3 with the official synopsis as shared by Netflix:

"Kimmie finally has a seat at the Bellarie table, but when a deadly family feud erupts, she's forced into an uneasy alliance with Mallory. Together, they navigate a ruthless world of blackmail, revenge, and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of its own, threatening to bring the entire empire crashing down."

Did anyone else get chills after watching the trailer and reading the synopsis? Beauty in Black season 3 both looks and sounds like the best season of the show yet, which is why fans are surely grateful that this isn't the final hurrah. There's still so much more Bellarie mess to unpack, and by the looks of season 3, there's nothing final about Kimmie's confident parting promise: "I'm still Kimmie, motherf---er!"

As with the past seasons of Beauty in Black, which were released in "parts," season 3 will contain eight episodes that will be released all at once. There won't be a second part of the third season to be released later. Instead we're getting a fourth season, though Netflix hasn't confirmed whether season 4 will have eight episodes or 16 to be released in two parts.
