Beauty in Black season 3 is coming to Netflix much sooner than fans expected

It's a great time to be a Beauty in Black fan because, quite simply, it's all happening. Not only is the the third season of the fan-favorite Tyler Perry drama series on the way (and much sooner than we had originally anticipated), but the series also earned an early renewal for a fourth season. The renewal came as a pleasant surprise considering Netflix had previously dubbed season 3 the last.

But Beauty in Black season 3 isn't the show's final season anymore, which makes its imminent arrival that much more exciting. We no longer have to brace for the big finish since these episodes are now building toward another new season, which hasn't been marked as the last either (yet, at least). Thankfully, we know when the Bellarie family drama will reignite, and it's before this summer ends.

Beauty in Black season 3 release date announced for August 2026

Keeping the surprises coming for the Tyler Perry series, Netflix announced the Beauty in Black season 3 release date for Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026. To share the news directly with fans, series stars Taylor Polidore Williams and Crystle Stewart appeared in a video, both sitting in the backseat of an SUV (likely on set for season 4), to make the release date announcement. Beauty in Black season 3 contains eight brand-new episodes that will be released at the same time on Aug. 27. There are no parts and no split seasons this time around, allowing for a smooth binge-watch experience that could even begin with the first two seasons. The third season picks up where the second season left off and opens the door to an even more explosive family feud.

According to the official season 3 synopsis via Netflix, "Kimmie finally has a seat at the Bellarie table, but when a deadly family feud erupts, she's forced into an uneasy alliance with Mallory. Together, they navigate a ruthless world of blackmail, revenge, and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of its own, threatening to bring the entire empire crashing down."

Just like last year, two eight-episode season will drop within the same calendar year. The second part of season 1 was released in March 2025 and the first part of season 2 was released in September 2025. From there, the second part of season 2 dropped in March 2026, leading to the eventual release of season 3 in August 2026. It's one of the shortest waits fans have had for new episodes.

What's more, Beauty in Black season 3 will be released much earlier than Netflix had previously intended, as Tyler Perry had hinted earlier this year that the third season wouldn't drop until 2027. Obviously, the new season ended up being ready for release much sooner than anticipated, which likely had something to do with the fact that season 4 ended up being renewed.

In addition to the release date announcement, Netflix also shared a handful of photos from season 3, including a particularly scandalous image of Roy, Jules, and Norman being escorted by the FBI with their hands clearly handcuffed behind their backs.
