As someone who's spent a good amount of her adult life watching Darren Star shows, one I’ve enjoyed both genuinely and ironically is Emily in Paris, largely because of the couples featured in this ridiculousness.
In honor of Emily in Paris season 6 finishing filming and the final season coming to Netflix on Christmas Eve, I’m going to rank the main couples we’ve seen over the last five seasons based on how healthy they are.
Keep in mind that none of these couples are perfect at all, but some are at least a little more stable than the others.

9. Sylvie and Laurent
This shouldn’t surprise anyone reading this, because Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) and Laurent (Arnaud Binard) were on the rocks.
They always had this weird partnership where they essentially gave each other permission to go out and be with anyone they wanted. Still, whenever they were together, some scheme or business decision seemed to push them apart — enough that in season 5, Sylvie decides to leave him for good because a business decision leads to her downfall.

8. Sylvie and Antoine
I was thinking of putting Sylvie and her longtime fling, Antoine (William Abadie), at the bottom because he was kind of schemy and not the best person.
For some reason, I can’t help but think Sylvie and Antoine got each other. I genuinely feel that if Antoine had changed his attitude about their relationship, they would have lasted longer. But because he kept so many secrets from her, she ended it. Sylvie hasn’t had much luck in her love life.

7. Gabriel and Emily
Yeah, I’m not apologizing for this in any way, shape, or form because Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Emily (Lily Collins) are, like, really unhealthy. That's mainly because they have been on and off so many times throughout this show, and I genuinely cannot see a future where they fully work on their differences and become a full couple.
I’m hoping season 6 brings some maturity to these two. My one request for this season is that their “will they, won’t they” won’t get dragged out until the series finale. Knowing my luck with this show, we’ll get exactly that.

6. Gabriel and Camille
Gabriel and Camille (Camille Razat) were at least a little healthier than Emily and Gabriel because they stayed together a long time. They didn’t break up or play a lot of games with each other — until Camille thought she was pregnant, found out it wasn’t, and kept lying about it.
So yeah, that’s not super healthy. Honestly, I hope she’s happier wherever she is and with her adopted child on her own. I think she’ll find a new purpose that way. These two were never meant to be.

5. Emily and Alfie
To be honest, I personally think that Emily and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) were a good match for a time. They both had business mindsets, wanted to be the best they could be at their jobs, and found a lot in common. They also had some great chemistry. But eventually, that good ol’ crush on Gabriel came right back around and smacked Emily in the face, causing their relationship to implode.
Eventually, they became friends because he was around their group so often that there were no hard feelings. But season 5 has put things to the test because of unforeseen circumstances involving Aldie and another character.

4. Mindy and Benoit
Mindy (Ashley Park) and Benoit (Kevin Dias) were never stable, per se. They didn’t have stable income and certainly never thought they'd become millionaires super quick. The passion for music was there, and they connected over that and so much more.
To be honest, their relationship was pretty solid for a time. I could easily have seen them making it to the end. But when Nicolas (Paul Forman), someone from Mindy’s past, showed up, it shook things up, made Benoit insecure, and led to fights. Here we are now, years later.

3. Mindy and Nicolas
Aside from some shady stuff from Nicolas, these two have honestly been some of the healthiest. But the reason I put them third on the list is that the communication just isn’t really there. I feel like they fight a lot, leading to big confrontations and misunderstandings that only mess things up in the future.
At the end of Emily in Paris season 5, these two are engaged, which makes them the obvious pick for the healthiest couple. But there are two other couples that I think have them beat.

2. Mindy and Alfie
Yeah, believe it or not, I really think these two are healthier. Yes, they’re basically having an affair right now. Mindy is still with Nicolas; Alfie is on his own. But there’s something about them, man. Their chemistry is so much better than Mindy and Nicolas, and you can tell they genuinely respect each other.
Alfie also seemed visibly upset when he found out Mindy was engaged, which is probably something Mindy didn’t even want, since she and Nicolas have never been together all the time. I think that if Alfie and Mindy had found each other earlier, they would have become an item before this and lasted. I hope they’re endgame (and they just might be if this slightly spoilery photo means anything).

1. Emily and Marcello
I will never apologize for loving Emily and Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) together in the show, because in my mind, he was the perfect man for her. He was hardworking, loved his family, valued her, and had a great time with her. He wanted the best for her, and even when they had problems — because they most certainly did — they talked it out.
They didn’t break up over him feeling insecure or her catching feelings for someone else or any of that. They ended because they genuinely wanted different things. She wanted to stay in Paris, and he wanted to move her to Italy full-time. It’s honestly a very grown-up thing to do, and I can’t even be mad at them. I know that when Emily is off gallivanting in Greece with Gabriel, I’ll be thinking of what could have been.
You can watch all five seasons of Emily in Paris on Netflix. The sixth season premiers on Dec. 24, 2026.
