Not to give you a fright head of Halloween, but an alarming number of fan-favorite movies will be leaving Netflix by the end of October 2024. We all know that movies tend to come and go on Netflix, so even though a long list of movies are departing Netflix this month, the cycle will continue and some might even pop back up in future months.

Last month saw the departures of the Divergent and Fifty Shades of Grey movies, along with beloved movies like A Walk to Remember and The Breakfast Club. This month, as many hit movies are leaving Netflix, too. The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Crazy Rich Asians, It Follows, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, and more have already left with lots more still to leave.

If you're hoping to have a Chucky marathon on Halloween, you're in luck. You'll be able to watch right under the wire, as you will with more movies that have been recently popular on Netflix. Here's your last call to watch five of the best movies leaving Netflix in October 2024!

Chucky movies

Catch him while you can! Your last day to watch Bride of Chucky, Child's Play 2, Child's Play 3, Cult of Chucky, Curse of Chucky, and Seed of Chucky on Netflix is Oct. 31.

That's six Chucky movies that will be removed from Netflix immediately after Halloween, giving horror fans the perfect opportunity to stay in on the holiday and have a full binge-watch with friends.

If you happen to miss out on Chucky, don't worry, there are other horror movies to watch on Netflix, including Halloween, Scream 5, It Chapter Two, Evil Dead Rise, and more!

Identity Thief

Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy's hit comedy Identity Thief from 2013 once again departs Netflix on Nov. 1.

The movie has been added to and removed from the streaming service a few times now, which gives us hope that it will be back in the future. Every time it's added, the movie shoots right into the top 10 most popular movies ranking.

No matter how many times you've seen it, you just can't get enough of the odd-couple laughs care of the leading duo's excellent comedic timing. Watch Identity Thief one last time before it's thieved from Netflix.

Jack Reacher

Whenever a Tom Cruise action movie is added to Netflix, they tend to quickly take up residence in the top 10. Unfortunately, Jack Reacher's time will be up on Halloween.

Both Jack Reacher (2012) and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016) will leave on Oct. 31, so it's time to say farewell to the military police investigator until the next time he swings into Netflix.

Cruise's other hit action movie Edge of Tomorrow will also leave the streamer on Nov. 6, so if you're a fan of the actor's blockbuster, make sure to have a back-to-back marathon as soon as possible!

La La Land

Another movie that tends to come and go on Netflix, La La Land dances out of our watchlists once more time on Halloween.

Now, it's not really what you would call a "Halloween" movie, but if you're not into the Halloween holiday or watch spooky things, then it's the perfect counter-programming to throw on in the nick of time.

Emma Stone won her first Oscar for her performance in the modern classic musical dramedy, and personally, there's never a bad time to watch La La Land. But you won't be able to watch it on Netflix as of Nov. 1, so act fast.

Sonic the Hedgehog

When the 2020 movie Sonic the Hedgehog came to Netflix in September 2024, it became super popular and was a constant fixture in the top 10 movies ranking.

The family comedy film starring Jim Carrey and James Marsden was a hit both on the big screen and on streaming, spawning a 2022 sequel and a third movie soon to hit theaters in December.

Hopefully, someday all three movies will be streaming on Netflix at the same time. But for now, sneak in one last Sonic the Hedgehog movie night with the family before the movie speeds off the streaming service on Nov. 1.
