When does The Crown season 6 part 2 come out?

The Crown season 6 has a total of 10 episodes and has been split into two parts. The first four episodes will begin streaming on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023 in the U.S. The rest of the season will debut before the end of the year on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023.

The split might seem a little funny as you’d expect the streamer to do five and five. However it seems like the fourth episode is going to end on a good enough cliffhanger for the series to split it four and six. Now I’m definitely intrigued! Thankfully it’s only about a month wait between the two parts, so we don’t have to wait too long for the rest of the season’s story.

What is season 6 about?

The next chapter in the royal story will focus on the relationship between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, per the synopsis. Unfortunately as we all know the events of history, the two end up in a “fateful car journey” that “has devastating consequences.”

The season will explore Prince William trying to navigate Eton with his mother gone, and Queen Elizabeth “reflects on the future of the monarchy” as Charles and Camilla finally get what they want and are married. Plus, an adult William and Kate’s story also takes center stage. There’s so much to come!

In an interview with Vanity Fair, creator Peter Morgan shared the season “takes a few unexpected turns” and that the series has “got a few surprises in there too.” Well color me intrigued!

Is season 6 the final season?

Unfortunately The Crown season 6 is the final season of the royal drama. This actually isn’t new news as the creator of the show, Peter Morgan, shared all the way back in July 2020 that the sixth season would be the last. It’s definitely a bittersweet time as a fan. I’m excited for what’s to come, but I’m not ready to say goodbye to one of my favorite shows yet. But, all good things must come to an end eventually. And this series has definitely been great!

The Crown season 6 part 1 premieres Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023 at 12 a.m. PT on Netflix. The final six episodes of the series begin streaming Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023.
