A new Ryan Murphy series is on the horizon as part of his overall deal with Netflix. Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is about the infamous serial killer. Frequent Murphy collaborator and American Horror Story star Evan Peters plays the titular role. Based on the early images and trailer, he certainly looks the part.

According to the show’s description, Monster will be different from previous Dahmer-centric movies and television series as it aims to focus on Dahmer’s victims, telling the story from their perspective rather than the murderer’s.

Monster is just one of several Murphy projects coming this fall, with Mr. Harrigan’s Phone and The Watcher also premiering in the coming months.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story cast

Obviously, Evan Peters is the main attraction here as the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. The actor has a massive and loyal fanbase, who I’m sure will be tuning into the show the second it drops on Netflix. But as this is a Ryan Murphy show, one thing you can expect is an incredible cast, and this show delivers.

Besides the Mare of Easttown alum, Monster will also star the talented Niecy Nash as Dahmer’s neighbor Glenda Cleveland. Glenda repeatedly tries to contact the police to warn them about Dahmer’s behavior, to no avail. Nash is a powerhouse performer best known for her hilarious turn in Reno 911! and, more recently, Claws. She’s also headlining the upcoming ABC series The Rookie: Feds.

Molly Ringwald, yes THE Molly Ringwald, will also star as Shari Dahmer, Jeffrey’s stepmother. Ringwald has starred in all sorts of movies and shows over the years, most notably John Hughes films like The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink. More recently, she starred in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth trilogy and Riverdale.

Playing Dahmer’s parents is Richard Jenkins and Penelope Ann Miller. Jenkins is an Emmy-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor whose credits include Six Feet Under, The Shape of Water, Burn After Reading, Olive Kitteridge, and more. Miller is a Tony Award-nominated actress best known for her theatrical work on Broadway.
