The best news to find out is when one of your favorite Netflix shows has been renewed for an additional season. Sometimes the streamer will be even more generous and renew a show for several seasons. Truthfully, it feels like your birthday when this happens. The streamer has recently renewed many great shows, including The Lincoln Lawyer, Never Have I Ever, Stranger Things etc. Some other great Netflix shows were renewed last year, and we’re also looking forward to their release.

Honestly, the hard part is waiting for the new seasons to drop. It’s not easy patiently waiting for your favorite show to return. You’re constantly on the lookout for any new updates about the show. But once Netflix makes the release date announcement, you instantly feel like a kid in a candy store.

First up on the list is the popular Netflix original series, The Lincoln Lawyer.

The Lincoln Lawyer

The Lincoln Lawyer premiered on Netflix in May 2022 and quickly made an impact. Critics and viewers alike enjoyed the legal drama series. It received mostly positive reviews from critics, and viewers praised The Lincoln Lawyer for its entertaining plot lines, unique twists, incredible performances, pacing, and, among other things, well-written scripts. It only took a month for Netflix to renew The Lincoln Lawyer for a second season, and now we wait for the show’s return.

Although production hasn’t started on The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 yet, at least we know that the show’s writers room is currently writing the scripts for the second season, according to a tweet by showrunner Ted Humphrey. Hopefully, filming gets started by the end of 2022. For now, our best release date prediction for The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 would be sometime in summer or fall 2023.

Heartstopper

Heartstopper premiered on Netflix in April 2022 and instantly stole the hearts of many. Based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman comes a coming-of-age series about a sensitive yet sweet boy named Charlie Spring who meets, befriends, and eventually falls in love with rugby-loving classmate Nick Nelson. The teen series also follows the lives of Charlie’s friends and other teens. In May 2022, just a month after the first season was released, Netflix gave the go-ahead for a second season.

It looks like the show is eyeing a fall 2022 production start date for Heartstopper season 2, according to a casting call that went out in July. It’s kind of hard to figure out when exactly Heartstopper season 2 could come to Netflix since it’s still early on in the filmmaking process. However, you can expect the second season to arrive sometime in 2023.

Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever is one of the best teen series on Netflix hands down. The first season premiered on Netflix in April 2020 and people immediately tuned in to see what The Office‘s Mindy Kaling’s new show was all about. In July 2020, Netflix reported that 40 million households had watched the show in its first four weeks on the streamer. Of course, with that many people watching the show, Netflix had to go ahead and give the green light for a second season, which premiered in July 2021.

Now, the third season is slated to land on Netflix on Aug. 12, and fans can’t wait to see what Devi and her friends get up to this season. Luckily, fans didn’t have to worry about the possibility of a fourth season because Netflix had renewed Never Have I Ever for a fourth season back in March 2022. But the sad news is that Never Have I Ever season 4 will be the final season. An official release date for season 4 hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected to arrive sometime in 2023.

Emily in Paris

After that shocking cliffhanger at the end of Emily in Paris season 2, people are more than ready to return to Paris to see what Emily decides to do regarding her career and love life. Fortunately, fans do not have to worry about the show’s fate because Netflix renewed Emily in Paris for not one season, but two! Yes, you read that right. Back in January 2022, the streamer handed out a two-season renewal to Emily in Paris. So, we definitely haven’t seen the last of Emily as she juggles work, friends, and romance while living in Paris.

Emily in Paris season 3 is currently in production and is expected to land on Netflix in the first half of 2023. It’s unknown if the scripts for season 4 are being written or are already written. Once the third season premieres, we’ll likely hear more news about Emily in Paris season 4.

Stranger Things

After a painfully long wait, the best show on Netflix dropped its fourth season in two batches this year. The first part of the season was released in May and the second part in July. Of course, Stranger Things season 4 was another great season and pulled in high viewership numbers. In fact, the latest season knocked Bridgerton season 2 from the top spot of the most-watched English-language series on the streamer.

Before the fourth season premiere, Netflix had renewed the sci-fi series for a fifth season in February 2022. I don’t think anyone was shocked by this decision. I’m not exaggerating when I say Stranger Things is the best show on Netflix. But sadly, Stranger Things season 5 will be the final season. There isn’t a release date yet, but we’re probably looking at a 2024 release.

Love is Blind

Netflix has found success with dating reality series on its platform. Love is Blind is one, if not the best, dating reality series currently streaming on Netflix. Two seasons have been released so far, and both of them were instant hits. The third season is expected to come to Netflix by the end of 2022. And you don’t have to worry about additional seasons because Netflix renewed Love is Blind for a fourth and a fifth season in March 2022!

There aren’t release dates for season 4 or season 5 yet, and it’s unknown if production has started. However, we think the fourth season will be filmed back-to-back with the fifth season. That’s what happened with seasons 2 and 3. If this is the case, we’ll probably see the release of two seasons in one year again. Hopefully, we get to see both seasons in 2023.

Black Mirror

We thought all hope was gone for Black Mirror‘s return on Netflix. The last news we had heard about Black Mirror was from the show’s creator Charlie Brooker, and it wasn’t good news at all. In May 2020, Brooker spoke with Radio Times and said that he had been busy doing other things, but couldn’t speak on what projects he was working on. But when asked about Black Mirror season 6, Brooker said, “At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those. I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.”

The future of Black Mirror wasn’t looking too great until May 2022, when Netflix announced that Black Mirror season 6 was officially happening. Then, in July 2022, the cast for season 6 was revealed along with an announcement that production was in progress. It’s hard to predict when the sixth season could come to Netflix, but we’re hoping for a 2023 release.

Vikings: Valhalla

It’s no secret that people love Vikings: Valhalla. The critics and viewers love the historical drama series. The first season was released on Netflix in February 2022 and garnered a lot of viewing hours within its first nine days.

When the show was ordered in November 2019, Netflix ordered 24 episodes. However, we’ve only seen the release of eight episodes so far. We weren’t necessarily panicking about the show not returning, but we wanted confirmation that it would be back for another season. Fortunately, Netflix gave us the confirmation we wanted in March 2022 by officially announcing that Vikings: Valhalla was renewed for two more seasons. The second season is expected to arrive in 2023 and the third season began production in the spring of 2022.

Sweet Magnolias

We love watching a feel-good series and Sweet Magnolias is just that. The show follows three best friends who stick together and help each other through the many trials and tribulations of life. Two seasons have been released on Netflix so far. In May 2022, Netflix announced that the romantic drama series would be coming back for a third season. Then, on July 18, production on Sweet Magnolias season 3 officially started. There isn’t an official release date yet, but we’re probably looking at a spring 2023 release.

You

You is one of the best thriller series on Netflix. Gossip Girl‘s Penn Badgley stars in the leading of Joe, an obsessive man who goes to great lengths to insert himself into the women he stalks lives. But Joe isn’t just obsessive. He’s a serial killer! You was originally a Lifetime series before Netflix picked it up for a second season. After another successful season, the streamer announced in January 2020 that You would be returning for a third season.

Before the third season premiered, Netflix renewed the thriller for a fourth season in October 2021. As of Aug. 11, production on the fourth season is still in progress. Production is rumored to wrap on Aug. 31. We don’t have a release date yet, but we likely won’t see You season 4 until 2023.

Outer Banks

Outer Banks is the best teen series on Netflix, in my opinion. There have been two incredible seasons, with a third season on the way. Principal photography on the third season started on Feb. 15 and is rumored to run through to Aug. 19. However, it looks like filming might’ve wrapped a little earlier, based on a recent video Chase Stokes posted on his Instagram story.

It’s worth mentioning that Netflix hasn’t confirmed that production has wrapped. Still, we’re expecting production to finish in August or sometime in September. With a wrap date in August or September, we could possibly see Outer Banks season 3 by the end of the year. However, there’s a chance we won’t see the new season until early 2023.
