After almost three years of waiting, Stranger Things fans can finally rejoice that season 4 has arrived on Netflix. Well, most of it. As we already knew, Netflix split season 4 into two parts. The first volume was released in May and Stranger Things season 4 part 2 is coming later this summer.

The new season is literally bigger and better than ever, with nine total episodes that exceed one hour in length. That’s some bang for your buck when you consider how long we have had to wait for these episodes to be released.

In the first volume of the new season, the gang finds themselves up against a new monster known as Vecna, and as they battle against the Upside Down’s latest threat, they uncover so many new key details about the origins of the Upside Down itself.

Unfortunately, the grand conclusion of season 4 won’t be revealed in June 2022. Stranger Things season 4 part 2 wasn’t included in Netflix’s complete list of new release shows and movies for the month, but the good new is we don’t have a long wait ahead of us.

Stranger Things season 4 part 2 release date

Following the release of the first seven episodes on May 27, Stranger Things season 4 part 2 will be released on Friday, July 1. Netflix opted to split the season into two volumes due to the length of the episodes, which as previously stated is over an hour per episode.

Stranger Things season 4 part 2 will contain two episodes. Obviously, that’s an unconventional number of episodes to be released in a “half” of a season, but episode 8 nears an hour and a half, while the ninth and final episode clocks in at 2 hours and 30 minutes.

But the second volume of season 4 isn’t all Stranger Things fans have to look forward to. Netflix has already renewed the series for season 5, which will be the final season. Although The Duffer Brothers have promised the break between seasons 4 and 5 won’t be nearly as long as seasons 3 and 4, it’s still unclear when the season will drop.
