Stranger Things season 4 runtime: How long does it take to watch?

Happy Stranger Things Week, nerds! It really felt like we’d never get to this point. And yet here we are. Only days away from Stranger Things season 4!

The highly anticipated fourth season debuts on Friday, May 27. We won’t be getting the whole season just yet though. Season 4 has been split into two volumes. The first part drops this week with the first seven of nine episodes. Then the second half of the season will be back on July 1. We’ve waited this long for the season. I think we can manage a few weeks between volumes!

It might seem like a weird way to split the season, but it probably has to do with just how long the episodes are. We’re getting a super-sized season with longer run times! All of the episodes are over an hour long, and the very last one is 2 and a half hours! We’ve got plenty of content coming our way.

How long does it take to watch Stranger Things season 4?

Well with such long episodes, that’s quite a bit of binge-watch time you’ll need to set aside. In total, here’s how long it will take you to get through the season:

• Stranger Things volume 1 (episodes 1-7): 539 minutes, almost nine hours
• Stranger Things volume 2 (episodes 8 and 9): 235 minutes, almost four hours
• Stranger Things volumes 1 and 2: 774 minutes, almost 13 hours

That’s a lot of time to find! But us Stranger Things fans will definitely make it work. After all, we’ve waited so long for the upcoming season. It might actually be a good thing that the last two episodes are coming a little later. We have nine hours worth of awesome material to get through first before the penultimate and final episodes drop on Netflix!
