Were you patiently waiting for Blonde to arrive on Netflix in 2021 like us? Well, unfortunately, the Marilyn Monroe biopic was pushed back to 2022 for unknown reasons. Now that we’ve entered the new year, when should we expect this highly anticipated title to hit the streamer?

It’s been a long time coming, but we’ll finally get to see the biographical drama film starring Ana de Armas as the Hollywood icon soon. How soon, you ask? Sadly, this is unknown at the moment since Netflix has not announced the release date yet.

Filming began in 2019 and most likely wrapped a long time ago. We’re unsure how long the film has been in post-production, but it seems like a long time.

Other than Ana de Armas, the Blonde cast is composed of some well-known actors and some new faces like Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Julianne Nicholson, Caspar Phillipson, Garret Dillahunt, Toby Huss, Sara Paxton, Scoot McNairy, Rebecca Wisocky, Lucy DeVito, and others.

Marilyn Monroe remains a major icon of pop culture so getting a fictionalized narrative of her inner life is a dream come true. And we believe this movie won’t disappoint with the incredible Andrew Dominik behind the biopic.

Blonde will be released on Netflix on September 23, 2022.
