The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor were spine-chilling shows that horror fans enjoyed from start to finish, and many are wondering if The Haunting season 3 will come out this year on Netflix?
The first fear-inducing entry, The Haunting of Hill House of the Netflix original anthology series, scared its way on the scene on October 12, 2018. The nightmarish next installment, The Haunting of Bly Manor, came out on October 9, 2020, almost two years later.
Both of the seasons, Hill House and Bly Manor, are currently available on Netflix, have secured impressive Rotten Tomatoes scores, and have been revered as must-watch affairs for anyone looking for one of the best supernatural series in recent years.
It’s not easy making a good horror film, let alone a good TV show. It’s hard to create a show on par with the likes of American Horror Story, The Terror, or Lovecraft Country but the streaming powerhouse definitely has a hew under its belt, including The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Paranormal, Stranger Things, Locke & Keye, Sweet Home and more. The well-crafted and terrifying anthology series is absolutely another fine addition to the list, and The Haunting season 3 would prove that.
What is The Haunting about?
The first series, The Haunting of Hill House, was based on the 1959 novel of the same name written by Shirley Jackson. The plot goes back and forth between two timelines where the paranormal experiences at Hill House haunt several individuals in the past and present.
The second installment, The Haunting of Bly Manor, was based on The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. The story here follows the events that follow the tragic death of an au pair when a new American nanny is hired to look after an orphaned boy and girl.
There is no telling what will happen in The Haunting season 3, but it’s safe to presume another classic horror story will be adapted to fit the Netflix anthology series’ successful formula.
When will The Haunting season 3 come out?
As to whether or not The Haunting season 3 will be available on Netflix in 2021, the news is downright horrifying. Series creator Mike Flanagan confirmed on Twitter that there were “no plans for more chapters” of the anthology series.
But he did add that he would let fans know if things change. While it does seem there is a chance The Haunting season 3 could eventually happen, the chances of it coming out this year are pretty non-existent at this point.
Flanagan and his team recently wrapped production on Midnight Mass, a new Netflix horror series. It will be added to Netflix in 2021.
We will be sure to keep everyone up to date on The Haunting season 3 as the information comes out.
