Is Insatiable canceled?

Seasons: 2

Created By: Lauren Gussis

Starring: Debby Ryan, Dallas Roberts, Christopher Gorham, Sarah Colonna, Erinn Westbrook, Kimmy Shields, Michael Provost, Irene Chio, Alyssa Milano, Arden Myrin

While we’re on the subject of shows Netflix should be embarrassed about not canceling sooner, let’s talk about Insatiable, shall we? Before the series even premiered in 2018, the dark comedy was already mired in controversy and a target of pre-premiere cancellation petitions. However, Netflix doubled down and renewed the series for a second season.

Debby Ryan stars in Insatiable as Patty Bladell, an overweight high school students who have been the subject of bullying. But over the summer, she returns to school having lost the weight and wanting to get revenge on the classmates who bullied her. Patty later finds herself in the beauty pageant world as Bob Armstrong (Dallas Roberts) transforms her into a beauty queen.

Insatiable holds an 11% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with most critics finding the show falling short of its intended social commentary and other missteps. Your mileage may vary, but the series never quite came together as something worth watching. Again, you might think Netflix should be embarrassed for canceling Insatiable, or you think they should be embarrassed for canceling it too late.
