Is Friends from College canceled?

Seasons: 2

If you’ve watched the Netflix original comedy series Friends from College, you’re probably wondering, “Wait… Why should they be embarrassed for canceling it?” Well, we’re going to break it down. The comedy, which features probably one of the most talented casts assembled in recent memory, wasn’t well received and was largely a creative misfire. Being so, it’s a total embarrassment.

Friends from College follows a group of Harvard grads now in their 30s and 40s and traverse the rocky terrain of adulthood. In various seasons of their lives, the group weathers the very high highs and the very low lows together, for better or worse, as their lives continue to be haphazardly intertwined in New York City. Between professional and personal affairs, these friends are a mess.

Listen, you might have loved Friends from College. That’s fine. But the series drew negative reception from critics, topping out at a 24% on Rotten Tomatoes. The cast couldn’t breathe life into super-unlikable characters and stories that were hard to find joy in. As harsh as it might be, Netflix should be embarrassed for canceling Friends from College after the second season. On the other hand, you might think Netflix should feel embarrassed for canceling it at all. Both things can be true.
