Riverdale season 5 will start filming very soon in Vancouver

The cast and crew will start filming Riverdale season 5 soon!

According to a social media post from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Riverdale season 5 has officially started pre-production on the new season. The Riverdale showrunner also mentioned that the officers are open, which is a great sign as the hit teen series gets back up and running.

Riverdale season 5 will not premiere this fall, unfortunately. The CW announced that the new season will be delayed until January 2021 to give the creative team, cast, and crew to get the season ready and account for any further delays.

That means we’ll see Riverdale season 5 on Netflix in the last summer of 2021, a few months after the normal release date for Riverdale on Netflix.

This is obviously great news for fans hoping to see the new season as soon as possible. There’s always the concern that production could get shut down again, but we’re hoping that won’t be the case and the cast and crew will be safe and healthy.

We still don’t know when Riverdale season 5 will officially start filming new scenes for season 5. Likely, that won’t be until September. We’ll be sure to let you know the official start date when we find out.

We’re still expecting the new season will be 22 episodes.

Riverdale season 5 stands to be the most interesting season of the series yet. The fourth season ended a few episodes earlier, so the season will begin where season 4 left off. We’re going to see the voyeur revealed, prom, and graduation at Riverdale High in the first few episodes of the season.

Then, there’s going to be a five-year time jump that will skip the next chapter of life for the teens of Riverdale. We’re guessing, because the show’s called “Riverdale,” that these characters will go their separate ways for a while before coming back to town. We’re hoping there’s another mystery to solve.
