Canceled Netflix Shows: American Vandal

American Vandal is one of my favorite shows ever. I’m a sucker for mockumentaries, and American Vandal is one of the best I’ve ever season.

The series premiered on Netflix in 2017, and the first season followed an investigation into the person who drew a bunch of genitalia on all the cars in the staff parking lot at a California high school. The crime is pinned on Dylan, a class clown and general idiot, who is known for doing things like that.

Peter, another high school student, doesn’t believe Dylan committed the crime and starts the process of clearing Dylan’s name.

American Vandal is so funny, and it’s so good. People actually thought the first season was real!

Netflix renewed the series for season 2, which focused on catching the Turd Burglar, a poop prankster at a high school outside of Seattle.

Unfortunately, Netflix canceled the series after two seasons for some reason. I hated the decision at the time, and I hate it even more now. I think we all need another season of American Vandal in our lives.

Canceled Netflix shows: The OA

The OA is another Netflix series that could and should have been renewed for another season.

The series premiered on Netflix in late 2016, and it was a big success at Netflix following Stranger Things. The shows attracted a similar audience, and Netflix definitely saw a bump in viewership around the time the series premiered.

The series, which was co-created by and starring Brit Marling, follows Prairie Johnson, a young woman who had gone missing. She mysteriously returns to her hometown, but she is very different from when she left. Things get wild after that!

The OA season 2 took a long time to arrive. It wasn’t released until March 2019, and unfortunately, the show probably lost a lot of fans since then. Netflix canceled the series shortly after.

After the series was canceled, there was (and still is!) a massive fan campaign for Netflix to save The OA. Unfortunately, it’s not looking good at this point, but we’ll continue hoping!
